Letter mailed to forensic unit from unknown person

Hmmmm.....my imagination is going in all sorts of directions, and I'm not trying to imply that LE did anything underhanded because I honestly don't believe they did, BUT in a not so perfect world...here's a scenerio... LE could have retrieved that letter from the Anthony house during the Dec. search, photocopied it while the search was still going on - leaving the letter in the household, and claiming later that it was sent anonomously. Okay...sorry...my brain took off in a convoluted direction!

I thought the same exact thing Gypsy! Good thing I'm not in LE, because I would probably do that!!

If Kronk had called the Anthony's tip-line as well as LE, an A Camp anonymous sender (like Lee) would have Kronk's contact info and could have sent a copy of the letter to him as well, right ?

True. That's also a possibility, Shaymus.

Thinking... if Lee was ever given a letter with directions, would he go himself? Or tell CA who would send DC?

I wouldn't imagine Lee would have wanted to see the remains first hand, no matter how close he is perceived to be with KC.

Date on the original letter is also quite important. Wish we knew what it was, if the photocopy was dated.

Could have been Lee but I'm more leaning toward JH. He would have had access to the letter because I'm sure that CA ended up with it. He seems like a CYA kind of guy seeing as how fast he turned turtle on the video. The other thing to remember about the SW. If LE found this letter while searching for other evidence in the SW, all it would take would be a phone call to a judge to get it included. That search warrant on 12/11 was broad enough that they could have been looking through letters and papers and found it. If that was the case, there would be no need for an anonymous letter. It would have just been seized by LE.

Now imagine you're a defense attorney going throught the docs given to you last Thursday and you see an off the wall reference to a letter written to Lee and then sent to LE anonymously knowing that your client wrote a letter to her brother explaining where she dumped the body. It was bad enough when the video came out (where did DC and JH get the inside info?). We might be able to speculate the answer to that now.

Now we just need a copy of the letter.

Let's hope it's in the next DUMP, or that Baez requests it in the discovery process.

Hee...same here...but ecs 5298 set me straight on my thoughts. See his post above. It would only take a call to the judge to take that letter!

Agree. Strong points on LE and the SW.

I differ a bit from other posters in that I can't imagine LE not playing this 100% by the book for any reason.

So, does the JH reference circle us right back around to JW, too? (just as an aside, she was at the remains site on the 15th and returned to her chat at 7:55 pm EST)

Ok....here's my speculation on it.

It's weird that this pops up in the middle of a forensics report that has nothing to do with anything.

How about this theory. KC sent a letter to Lee A. describing exactly where she dumped the body. The letter is hand delivered to Lee via JB (possibly DC or JH). The letter is in the Hopespring house, it is shown to CA, she sends DC and JH on a mission to find the body on 11/15/08. Someone got a hold of the letter and photocopied it (maybe DC, more likely JH, maybe Mallory or even GA). They send the letter anonymously to OCSO and a person in the media (say Kathi B). OCSO calls KB and asks her to keep the letter quiet for a while (she complies cause she doesn't want her career going down in flames for one scoop). Now notice who JH went to with the tape....WFTV...legal analyst BIll Sheaffer. It all adds up, the only problem is proving it without seeing the letter.

That's my theory....tear it apart!

I can not think of anything to add to or subtract from this, great theory!:clap::clap::clap::clap:

I'd be willing to bet that JB has seen the original, probably read it when KC handed it to him, I doubt he'll ask for it in discovery. Although SA's office could included it under "other correspondence" or something like that just to blow the roof off and send JB right to the ER with chest pain or something. My bet would be that they will keep that tucked under their hat until it's needed. Until then, all we can do is wonder!

Speaking of the SW and retrieving stuff from the Ant home. Remember all those white binders Lee and Cindy were seen carrying around? I would LUUUUVVVV to know if LE got ahold of those!

I don't know about JW, but I do agree with you that LE wouldn't not play by the book on this one. Too much at stake to play games like that.

Why do I feel like JB was left out of the loop on this one? I feel like KC wrote directly to Lee through the court or whatever - totally by-passing JB. Just speculating here of course. Maybe JB just found out about the letter (because of the new discovery last week) and that's what threw him for a loop and upset his little tummy. ???? Thinking out loud here...

Tater, no way do I think LE would do anything like that, they have handled this case professionally and played by the rules.

I've seen too many movies about bad cops!

I believe her outgoing mail is read before it goes out. She'd have to hand it to someone who visits....like JB.

If I remember, she showed up on the 15th with pics for LE to prove that it wasn't under water in August and that the body must have been moved there at a later date. If she was that set on disproving that the body wasn't there in Aug, why would she mail a letter basically giving LE a confession by KC? Or am I misunderstanding her involvement in this case because in all reality I haven't paid too much attention to JW.

I think Ecs is right! We need more docs!!

We need more everything...lol...we need the dang truth and the perp just needs to GIVE IT UP! Uh...but she never will. She'll take what happened to her grave. I'd put money on that!

Do you think JB would've tried to disuade Casey from sending the note ? What would his motive have been to send it on to Lee ?

This theory is shaping up nicely.

I agree with Gypsy, too. This might be all the more intriguing if the letter was never seen by JB and was sent via normal snail mail from jail.

LJ, I knew you know. :blowkiss:

oohh duh!

I was under the impression that if it went through the court it was sealed. I guess I just assumed that because of Lee's jailhouse convo with KC when he said to send letters through the court to bypass JB. I had blond moment....duh..sawry!
