I'm writing this confused as to how this case is still unsolved?

HERE IS THE DETAILS I COULD FIND ONLINE

Tacoma Police detectives need your help to identify the suspect responsible for the murder of 26 year-old Linda Tran, her 9 year-old daughter Patricia, 1 year-old son Austin, and Linda Tran's unborn child.

At 8:15 p.m. on December 18th, 1998, witnesses saw an unidentified man arguing with victim Linda Tran in front of the victim's house in the 1700 block of E. 40th St. in the City of Tacoma. Witnesses saw the suspect chase the victim into the house with a baseball bat and heard him order Tran's children into the house.

Minutes later Tran's house exploded in flames, killing the victim and her children. Detectives believe the suspect beat the victims, set the house on fire, and then locked the victims inside of the house before fleeing on foot.

The unidentified suspect seen arguing with Linda Tran before the fire was described as an asian or black male. Detectives believe the victim knew the suspect and are looking for any information on the suspect’s identity.

added note from me:

What is confusing to me about this case is the fact that multiple witnesses saw a man arguing with her. Then it states they saw him enter the apartment with her shortly after he entered it exploded. Witnesses later saw the male running out the back door to a vehicle parked down the street, but no one has come forward to identify. How do you flee an explosion and not be noticed by anyone? The man in question has not been found and the body of him was not recovered. I am lost on how no one could identify the perpetrator before or after the incident took place? Not make presumptions just express my train of thought?

''On Dec. 18, 1998, Scoccolo received a phone call from Tran’s youngest brother informing her the police had come to tell him that Linda, Austin and her 9-year-old daughter Patricia had been murdered. Tran was also seven months pregnant and her unborn child, Joshua, did not survive. Tran and her children were found dead at their duplex in the Salishan neighborhood in the 1700 block of East 40th Street in Tacoma.''

'After they got home, eyewitnesses said the family was met by a man outside who began arguing with the Tacoma mother at about 8:15 p.m. Witnesses reported the man, who had a baseball bat, then chased or lured Tran and her children inside. Minutes later, there would be an explosion in the home.''
'Through the investigation, police said it appeared the unknown man had beat Tran and her children before setting the house on fire. The man then left the house, locking the family inside to perish'

''While there have been no official suspects in the murders, Tacoma PD shared a composite of the man who was seen yelling at the family before the tragedy occurred.''
