Anarcists. Not protesters. And my white suburban sister is there and say she saw hardly any of that and was not scared.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My younger sister lives there and is very active. She said it was awesome . I watched it and loved it

Whether the people there causing damage are labeled anarchist they were there to protest, that makes them protestors. Yes there were those there holding signs( against) on the route of the parade that were peaceful, but nor all were peaceful as far as their mouths. jmo The link from the dailymail showing the rioting protestors did happen, but far from the parade route. DC is a big city, because someone that lives/works there and didn't see any protesting/rioting doesn't mean it didn't happen. Living in baltimore city with the rioting early in 2016 on the west side I didn't see anything on the east side, without the news I wouldn't have known it happened. jmo idk

The media is getting stuff imixed up I think. THe violent stuff was the night before-- the march was enlightened speakers.

Congress will take notice-

seems like this disussion happens every time - the vast majority of protesters were there to peacefully voice their opinion, the people that were there in masks and committing crimes are most accurately described by the terms anarchists and criminals, not protesters. insisting on calling them protesters is usually done by people that want to try to lump them in with all the rest of the peaceful people that were there in an effort to condemn all of them.

99% of the people protesting in washington this weekend will do nothing illegal, it has nothing to do with "interrupting the peaceful transition of power", and they are participating in something that has gone on since the founding of this country and should never be discouraged.

Nicely
stated Even thow there were so many more folks for the peaceful march the following day there was no violence. The were honoring the AMerican right to let congress know that congress had better being paying attnetion to what they vote for, and or allow to happen.

They also need to understnd that all over the globe people took to the streets to support the main march for congress.

They were talking to congress

I loved that I did not see a single misspelled sign :) unlike some gatherings of rallies for Trump all year :)

I agree with the first part of your post that the vast majority of protesters were there peacefully and though I may not agree with their opinions I 100% agree with their right to express their opinion.

I however don't think protesters and anarchists are mutually exclusive.

THe fact is that noone was arrested at the March, no property damaged, police were seen interacting with the peaceful folks.

i didnt say they were, i said that they arent most accurately described by the term "protester" - especially when it seems that people willfully do so in an effort to lump them all in together, to condemn a large group by the actions of a few.

There wer not even a few!!!

They were charged with felony rioting.

Federal prosecutors say most of the approximately 230 protesters arrested on Inauguration Day will be charged with felony rioting.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says the offense is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The people who were arrested are appearing in court on Saturday in Washington.

Good to hear. Is the 220k the city size or the metro area? That's a yuge bigly crowd. The Bay Area was having four with the largest in San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose, and the Santa Cruz area was having two marches.

60countries held marches with the hundreds in the USA yesterday

more than 600 sister marches in every state and dozens off oreign countries Saturday.

Note distinction above!

No one that I am aware of on this thread thinks that the arrested were from the march on the 21st jan, except you. I think by you insinuating such is confusing to some.

Sorry, I think I misread your statement. I'm so used to people pointing out the violence to dismiss the message and it frustrates me. I might've been a little touchy LOL!

It was live all over the globe!!!! Nonstop all day I watched the whole thing, most of the speeches did not even mention him- they were letting the congress know!!

And again you are quoting a post that had to do with the inauguration and not the march the next day.

Why was the violence from the 20th even brought up in a thread about live cams recording protests on the 21st?

Doesn't Madonna live in England--I thought I've heard her British accent but I could be wrong? Is she now a spokesperson? Just curious....

Throughout her career , she has always advocated for important social issues. In music, many of the female vocal legends today were due to the support by the gay community, initially, (while they were trying to hold on to a recording contract.)

Madonna was one of them. Bette Midler. Streisand.Summers. Diana after going solo. Cyndi Lauper.Cher. Gaga.

She has a townhouse in the upper east side ny. I remember reading how she took it upon herself to paint no parking on the curb so no one would park in front of her place. Not sure what country she claims as hers of if she has duel residence.
