local media's first home tour and presser 10/27/11 **cancelled**

Do you have any ideas about why JT might do that? And why now?

His flight is delayed from Italy, and he won't be able to be on camera in time?

  • #182
That makes a lot of sense, actually. It fits in with the "daily press releases". That way the lawyers can put out any information/misinformation they like without having to answer uncomfortable questions about it.

Well, it only makes sense if you're guilty though.
IDK, guilty or innocent, it's utterly dumb to give LE or the State amo. Just from a legal stand point, though.

From a personal stand point wrt today: WTF???

The Grand Jury won't subpeona the "suspects" or "whoever the indictment is being requested for". So, I don't think the parents got any Grand Jury subpeonas.

I think this has everything to do with the forward progress of the investigation. This progress has been moved to the CSI labs (behind the scenes for us). The lab has now gotten some results of whatever evidence LE took in the SW (which we don't know).

I said before - I do believe that CS gotten an early morning phone call that contained some "interesting" information about the investigation and she now has some actual work to do instead of getting on-camera and giving house tours. KWIM?

Wonder if we'll hear anything by the end of the day - or will we have to wait until tomorrow - after the boys interview

BBM

Good point - hhmmm........do we know if the local media have gotten any glimpses of either of the parents in the last day or two? Last one I remember seeing the DB's "because we're grieving" drive-by statement and that was on Tues?

I didn't mean the lab would call anyone - well, other than the lead detectives on the case. But, once the lead has been briefed - well, who knows the direction that would go.

I don't think they've found a body. We went through this so many times in Caylee's case, wondering if they had already found her. Nope - we'll know very quickly if they do find Baby Lisa.

It may be that one of the parents has "taken a stand" and refuses to either, a) continue backing the other or b) decides to shut their own trap for good.

IF CS has determined that there are any substance abuse problems - it is in the best interest of all to get that person help - albeit inpatient rehab or just outpatient therapy.

There are bigger reasons for cancelling all this today - and I'm sure "exhaustion" really isn't one of them.

Usually when LE wants to give them info on what they found in a SW, they want to give that in person. So they can see the reaction, see if they can get them talking. And the lab wouldn't call them anyway.

I'm thinking someone became ill (Or od'd). Or one spouse learned of actions taken by the other spouse and is refusing to go on camera, maybe threatening to go to LE. Or they were notified a body has been found even.

Though I do have to say that the entertainment business sometimes uses that a 'star' was tired/exhausted and stressed and needed some time as an excuse to cover bad behavior or a trip to rehab.

“Your interest in this important story continues to be critical in helping to find this little girl,” Short said in the statement. “Your patience in this matter is, as always, appreciated.”

I don't think that you can request patience from the public during a time like this.....an infant is MISSING for goodness' sake. Time is of the essence, so you cannot have it both ways!! :maddening:

We have already been in the home through the national media. If she was to give that tour could it be used in the court of law if her client is arrested at some point? moo

Just the fact that a defense attorney is saying this, and not LE, creeps me out.

Yep this is the second time in this case.

Remember when LE first said the parents weren't cooperating? And media was told by somebody (can't remember who) that the family was tired and needed a break.

Hmmmmnn. Sometimes I think in these cases run by high priced attorneys and media outlets they do this stuff on purpose. It keeps interest in the case going forward. Sort of like the end of the soap opera when they give you just enough information about the next episode to peak your interest.

To add to that, I think JT is being paid by the national networks getting all the "exclusives". The purpose of putting him on this was for him to control all access to information by the press. He needed a local lawyer to make it legit but I don't think he wants that local lawyer to do anything on her own.

I think the key word here is that all media appointments in Kansas City have been cancelled. We will likely still see JT and BS on the spin tour from other areas.

MOO
Yes, that's pretty telling, but not because of national deals, but because Kansas is where a jury could be drawn from.

I'm hanging off the fence about DB and JI, but if I were a lawyer, even if I knew my client was innocent, I'd still tread lightly nonetheless. Opening myself up to local reporters could blow up in my face. Would not risk it.

What's he doing in Italy? :waitasec:

Sorry, I should have put "Just Kidding".
He actually was in Italy earlier in the week on business and still managed to be on camera on the morning shows, with the tag line below him saying he was in Italy. I think it was established on another forum that he has business in Italy from time to time. IMHO

I've heard of people taking 31 days :banghead:

I didn't pick up on the boys' interview being cancelled. That's could be very telling. I really do think lab results are starting to come in. Maybe the boys's interview is not as pressing and their DNA is not so critical--JMO.

That didn't occur to me either, Katshep. Now I'm starting to wonder if these "cancelled appointments" also include the boys interviews/DNA collections. :waitasec:
