local media's first home tour and presser 10/27/11 **cancelled**

This is interesting. They say that they have no new leads, but why pick that spot, 10 miles from the home? There are dozens of spots that they could pick, so why this one? I hope that they find that precious child!

This is pretty standard.
KCPD is known for keeping things to their chest. They've received quite a bit of flack for this in the past from the media in other cases. I say KUDOS to them!

I really think there's something going on behind the scenes. Short knows how bad this looks to set this entire thing up and then cancel at the last minute. The only reason this would not go on as planned was if there was something that took precedent to it. So, either they worked something out with LE and under the radar questioning is going to happen, or Short was given the heads up that some important results have come back and today is going to be a big meeting with the clients for "where do we go from here?

I really hope not. I'm still praying that Baby Lisa is alive.

I think every single person here hopes that baby Lisa is still alive, but there comes a point where it just hits you in the face and you have to accept all of the clues pointing to DB.

Well, I'm on tenter-hooks now.

My magic 8-ball answered, 'Without a doubt.' when I asked if LE was making an arrest today.

I thought the same thing when reading the article. 10 miles and 20 minutes away, 3 boats in the water...and this has nothing to do with a tip? Sounds odd to me.

A tip had to come from someone........ MOO

I think you misread my question. I am wondering what would make them just jump up and go to that specific location? I just moved from KC 3 years ago and I know of dozens of places that are equally as private as this area...that was all...

Unfortunately, narcissists don't confess, and since DB is probably the primary person who would qualify (IMO), that pretty much destroys that possibility. But I hope you are right!

Interesting! But you know when narcissists DO confess? (IMHO) When they are interviewed by someone that they want to impress. That old trusty interrogation technique of "Good cop, bad cop" may help.

Maybe the narcissist is just so angry that the questioning wasn't done by someone that kissed her you-know-what.

No, I understood!! Yes, likely it is a tipster. I meant it is standard that LE say "no specific tip" :)

Also, it's a good idea not to leave any stone unturned.

Is that legally a problem though for the lawyer to prep the kids?

I don't know if it is legal or not.

I do know these professionals are trained to determine if a child has been coached or not.

I have a friend who used to do this and she told me a story one time of a girl claiming to be abused by her father in a custody suit. She asked her what she was doing right before the abuse and she replied, "I don't know, my mom didn't tell me that part!"

Gotcha! I'm the one who misread then...haha.

I have read either on this thread or the one of the search that LE just looked on the map and saw this area and thought that they should search it, so I guess anything is possible. :)

I'd just like to take this chance to thank everyone who posts links to live media updates and on-scene situations. This is so helpful and appreciated.

Good point. Although I think of OJ, and no way, no time, never will he admit it. But anyway, using appeasement would be interesting, and what do they have to lose at this point?

I am probably alone in thinking they should "accommodate" DB and JI and assign a "nicer, more understanding" detective to "interview" them. Ala your "good cop" premise.

ahahahaha!
Yes, but who needs to confess when you can write a whole book about "if I did it" and get paid in the process.

You have such interesting posts. My sister and I used to talk at length about OJ and wouldn't he someday wake up in a sweat over what he (allegedly) did, and then we thought, no, no he wouldn't.

I could have been clearer. I'm a lazy writer! :)

Now that I see "which" pond, it may very well be something they just decided to do. Lots of dumping has happened there over the years. I'm not really sure what it is about that location.

I've seen discussions going on about ideas of places and pouf... KCPD is at the spot discussed supposedly not based on a tip. Who knows. I think they're doing a great job considering the circumstances. I just don't understand why DB/JI attorneys continue to imply that KCPD is not? If someone abducted this child would it not be plausible that they dumped anything near the home? Or left fingerprints and evidence in the home? It seems that the parents have made this out to be all about themselves when it appears to me it's a pretty standard investigation. Or started that way. IMVHO.
