Thanks :) I've been to the site and see:

3/22/2013 MOT - Motion - Party (001) 3/22/2013
NOTE: DEFENDANT'S MOTION FOR PROTECTIVE ORDER

but I've never been able to figure out how to get more info. Where did you go to find the info about the defense billing records? TIA

The courthouse public computers. I don't know why they don't make the documents available on the internet. Lots of courts do even if they charge a fee for them.

Hi everyone! It's my first time posting. I have been a huge fan of all you seasoned posters for quite some time. Hope I'm doing this right. I just wanted to say, has anyone noticed JA's hands?? Fugly!

It's as if her body is trying to conform to what is on the inside. ugh.

Something else that has been nagging me and I would like to see if any WSers noticed this as well. During Jodi's testimony covering her "foggy" drive into the desert following the murder of Travis, she mentions that she came out of the "fog" to discover she had blood on her and that she was barefoot. She stated that she had left her shoes behind. Well, I've looked everywhere and have not seen any mention of Jodi's shoes being found at the crime scene. Have any of you seen anything? We do know that she had on a pair of black socks in the photo where she is dragging Travis down the hallway. There were socks in the washing machine.

Hey Lone, where ya been?

I haven't seen anything about the shoes...I thought maybe the sandals in the crime scene photo were hers..idk.

I think she did leave Travis house barefoot because there are no shoe prints beyond the end of the hallway exiting the bedroom.

If you find out let me know. :seeya:

Front license plates are not required in Arizona.

I think maybe we are all over thinking the license plates. Maybe it's something as simple as her switching her California plate for to a Arizona plate (which she probably had from living there) while she was in Arizona. To make it look as though she is just a local while there. This just adds to the premeditation to me. It draws attention away from her. She may have switched them back very quickly (in her fog) to the california plate once she was out of Az, abd ACCIDENTLY put it on upside down.

So we know that she weighed at least 135. Come on! You know we all do it! :floorlaugh:

It's a sore spot for her. When talking about the closet shelving, JM asked her something like "so how much do you weigh 130 lbs?" and she corrected him with "120 lbs."

Made me giggle at the time.

Wow, I didn't realize you meant you were checking there ! That's awesome, thanks for getting us more info. :)

Has there been any notification or discussion about why the DT has filed a Motion for Protective order today?

Anyone??

My first thought was they wanted to put Doc Love on suicide watch. Just kidding, sort of.

It works to interrupt JM's flow. It gives the witness time to regroup/think during the sidebar/s. It also ticks off most of the jury imo.

This is what I was thinking--her going over the jury questions with Samuels AGAIN seemed to be aimed at Martinez. Too bad for Jodi, since the jury sounds like they have had it with this guy.

Is it professional to deny the objection like she does? "Judge, I didn't say that!"

Does Juan do things to get her worked up on purpose? Does he think she's a bad trial lawyer?

Maybe this needs to go in the lawyers thread, but...

Is JW and her over the top sound effects and high pitched screeching when objecting and her style of questioning that seems to go nowhere--is this ON PURPOSE? I mean, is this effective? Her constant whining to "approach" when Juan is making a point--does that work for her in other cases??

I'm serious about my question--I just don't understand why she acts so differently than JM. She is overly emotional.

One of the things that we constantly work on my Trial Ad classes is how to get rid of our annoying habits and ticks. Everybody has them, mine is that I pace back and forth when I get nervous. JW probably doesn't even realize she looks like a whiner, but she's also probably completely freaking out inside, given how her case is going.

I think her biggest worry should be that by objecting too much, she's alerting the jury that whatever JM's talking about must be really important and really bad for the defense. Sometimes it's best to just sit on your hands, let it come in, and try to rehabilitate on re-direct...especially when most of her objections are being overruled. On the other hand, if she doesn't object, they won't be able to argue the objection in an appeal, so that's got to be on her mind as well.

All of this inner tension has got to her and is showing up on the exterior, IMO.

That's a great point. She knew that and immediately removed the front plate of the CA rental car to further limit her chances of detection.

When I first moved to AZ I had a car with OH plates. Even though the front plate is required in OH, I never put it on in AZ cause I didn't like them, and I'm sure local law enforcement was none the wiser.

Sorry SoCalBuck ~
I didn't see this until after I posted. I said the same thing. I am not a very fast typer

This is probably my imagination werkin' overtime, BUT....a couple of days ago at the end of day, the court evidence deputy was wandering around the courtroom <IMO> looking for a piece of unaccounted for evidence. AND, at the end of court yesterday Judge Stephens asked/reminded Dr Samuels to check his files for something <can't remember what exactly>...but I'm wondering if he slipped something in his paperwork.....

Gotta go back and see what Judge Stephens said to him....

I also noticed JW at the DT table looking for something and seemingly flustered, this was, I believe, around the time of JA's slight of hand movement. JA sat stone faced the entire time as JW flipped open one of the folders sitting in front of JA on the desk. she then went over to nurmi's side of the table, opened a binder, I thought I heard her say "Oh well!" and grabbed something out of the large binder and when she went back to talk to Dr. Samuels her line of questioning changed somewhat, as if she had not found exactly what she was looking for. I didn't put 2 and 2 together until later when someone posted the slight of hand by JA.

Also a big Thank You to whoever brought up about JVM waving the pistol around with her finger resting against the trigger, on her show. I'm sure the neighbours heard me yelling at her to wake up!

Sorry I'm a few pages behind but I had to comment on these two posts. :blushing:

Has there been any notification or discussion about why the DT has filed a Motion for Protective order today?

Anyone??

Is it about the spectator in the gallery saying out loud "I wish Jodi would die" or words to that effect who was kicked out yesterday?

Anyone think there is anything to the theory one of Dr. Drews fellow guest docs speculated about on his show:

Jodi shot travis first
Gun jammed
causing her to then be forced to blugeon him

Even if she first attacked him with the knife in the shower, still seems super ballsy and risky, considering he could have overpowered her.

My hubby and I have been going back and forth on this for days. He says there's no way she attacked with the knife first for the simple reason he could overpower her.
At first I thought the shot first made more sense but then I thought about the ME's report and the DT haven't brought anyone in disputing it. I believe it was after the stabbing. I posted earlier that I changed my DHs mind last night when I surprised him with a sharpie marker attack while he was unsuspectingly sitting in his recliner.
He has finally had to admit that it was definitely possible for her to get in several stabs. I wish I would have gotten it on video. We were laughing so hard afterwards we were both crying.:floorlaugh:

Two women were evicted from court yesterday -apparently one of them said she wished Jodi was dead. They were within earshot of Jodi's mother and
I'm sure the DT was aware.... that's the incident that comes to mind..

Agreed as well! That's the first thing I thought when I heard her say "he shot my baby right in the head!" That just doesn't pass the smell test.

No it sure doesn't. There is a thread discussing it here:

It appears that many of us aren't buying this story at all.

OT: LMN 3:00 cst movie: "Karla", about Paul Bernardo and his wife!

I usually post crime-related movies or TV shows on the daily "Breaking News" board but have not done so while I've been following the JA case. Looks like a good lineup of true-crime films this weekend, so I'll post those for sure.

Believe it or not, I just read about that case.

Talk about sick!

  • #1,379
I don't know where you read that but if you look at the crime scene photos his room was not torn apart.

Yes, it was actually quite a 'tidy' murder, apart from Travis escaping down the corridor for a minute.
She planned it like a game of cluedo.
Arias in the bathroom with a big knife and a semi automatic for back up.
