There was never a rope involved that day, so no rope was taken by the killer when she left.. the killer left with exactly that which she came, the knife and the gun that she used to slaughter Travis..

HTH

But how did talk him into posing nude in the shower?

How can you be sure he was posing in the shower.Because Jodi said he was.
It is possible he was stabbed in the stomach and collapsed to the bottom of the shower.
He may not have even bled for a few seconds.
You cant see a stab wound because of the rolls in his belly covering the wound.
Remember the blade of the knife was 1 1/2 in wide and it was plunged deep into his stomach just above his belly button.Sometimes wounds don't bleed very much for a few seconds.

Everyone has the right to their opinion. I will share mine with you, Juan is passionate about his job. I believe the interrogation tape with Flores proves treating Jodi with kid gloves will not get you anywhere and therefore I found his treatment of her was needed.
Beyond that the fact that while Juan pounded at her she smugly and sarcastically tried to smack right back at him. The actions of a timid PTSD victim? I think not.

I agree with you completely about cross examining Jodi. I think that that was appropriate. I was speaking more about his treatment of our unesteemed psychologist. It should be interesting to see how he is with the next professional.

To give you all an idea about what I call "born litigators".

I work for a firm with over 250 attorneys. I'm a para professional so I've seen my fair share of litigation. We are consistently ranked every year in the top 10 firms in the COUNTRY for our specialty area (most of which we rank in the top 5 of that list). Out of 250 attorneys we have 3 attorneys (who I consider "born litigators"), but one main standout. The other attorneys in our firm attend Court to just WATCH that one standout attorney. He commands attention in a Courtroom. And that's how I see Juan. He COMMANDS attention. And it's RARE to see attorneys go without anything at all to jog memories or keep on track. Many times attorneys need witness outlines to do their questioning. Juan doesn't. He has an amazing command of this case.

I'm in total awe of his ability.

Like you, I am in awe of his abilities.

The compare and contrast between him and the DT leaves such a wide gap.

Nurmi basically zones out while JM is questioning. JW seems to tune into his voice and then start paying attention, and then it gets fun watching her face. She's trying to figure where he is going with things...there have been the deer in the headlights look and then the "oh $hit" when the DT team gets smacked hard.

JM does his homework and studies the documents, putting things together. The DT has the same paperwork JM does, but they have failed to put things together like JM has.

We won't know until Monday, but it looks like there is a high probability that the expert witness may have incorrectly transferred the original raw data (on the lined paper) onto the official data sheet form. This is why JM is bringing all 3 forms into play.

Dr Drew is on a roll tonight! Some of Travis's family will be on with him shortly. Body language specialist reporting on Jodi's headstand, stretching maneuvers while she knows she is being observed by LE- the ultimate defiance. Also describes what we have all seen, she feels such glee at outwitting anyone who tries to pin her down. Dr Drew says her feeling glee in those circumstances is a "devilish" characteristic.

Loved it when Dr. Drew started out tonight with juror questions to Samuels and immediately came out of the gate with "this peace loving slaughtering person" describing JA.

:floorlaugh:

I still don't totally get what happened, but from what Samuels is saying:

He sent in the filled in raw test data to someone. --I suppose the Defense team.

Then he said he wanted to study it for the trial, but had no access to it [?] so he recreated it from memory? and drew up this new version....

And then he brings this new version to court with him and passes it off as the original????

I am confused about which day this happened. On day one of the cross, he said he didn't have it and it was on his desk at work---

so the next day, did he bring in this newly recreated one, that is off from the original?

JW kept going to sidebars and looked scared chitless, so we didn't have time to untangle this mess. But Juan was going in for the kill before time ran out.
Yup. But add to that he said it turned out to be in the file the whole time.

"Let's see, Alex, I'd like Tampering With Evidence for 100, please."

How long is the line to kiss Juan's ring??

We're lining up based on Post count...the higher your posts, the closer to Juan you get to be in line :great:

thats pretty obvious.. no accident

watch

That GIF is so much awesome in a little box.

Another thought on the mean text messages. I am generally a very nice person and hate confrontation of any kind. However, I dated (sort of, it was a very short time) someone once who just didn't take "no" for an answer when I was trying to distance myself. I tried nicely over and over and after several months, I sent absolutely horrible text messages. I couldn't find another way to get it through this guys head, so I relate well with TA's mean words. Some people (JA is definitely one of those people) just don't get it when they are unwanted and you have to go to extremes.

I also would have never let this guy back in my house after I sent those messages though. I believe all the messages she sent to him being so nice the weeks before (about him dating and Cancun) was again to cover up her tracks for the premeditation. She knew they would be read, so played it up. There is also the possibility she was blackmailing him and tried the whole "Just hear me out one more time, and I will give you the sex tape." as a way to get in. He could have not worried about the shower pics because it was on his camera. I seriously doubt he would have let her leave with those pics of him.

GAH!!! I missed JM entirely!!!! (daughter's friend's mum hospitalized for soma overdose - not really familiar with it but tabling it for now).

I'm guessing things went well this afternoon... :great:

Okay - catch up time - I'll do my own homework :) ... but I wouldn't turn down a one-sentence synopsis (just sayin')
hee! :fence:

Soma is a muscle relaxer.

From the photos of the "gun cabinet" and the other weapons at JA's grandparents home, it does not look like the guns were kept in pristine condition. How long ago was the missing .25 caliber gun cleaned, if ever? I know nothing about guns, but I imagine a gun that has not been cared for would tend to misfire or jam.

If it were cleaned and oiled after its last use, it would probably work just fine.

Just by way of example, a couple years ago my 90 year old Great Uncle give me a bunch of guns because he didn't want to renew his NYC permits. They included a Savage .308, a Remington 12 gauge and an original semi-auto .22 Armalite AR-7 survival rifle.

They had been kept in the back of a florist shop in Brooklyn for 40 years and with the humidity they had some slight marring of the finish but they fired just fine using equally old ammo. I brought them to a gunsmith to have the finish looked at, but after sitting fallow for 40 years everything wrong with them was totally cosmetic.

Of course, those are long guns with greater tolerances, but the Colt template is very reliable and as long as the gun wasn't neglected (which isn't necessarily the case regardless of how crappy the gun case it was stored in) I don't see reason it wouldn't work just fine.

They are guns, not pocket watches.

Incidentally, the Armalite is a joy. It packs up in its own stock, weight 2 lbs and fits right in my pack. They were originally made by Armalite, then bought out by Charter Arms who made crap, but now they are made by Henry and are worth buying again.

Aint that the "broken finger too?

the one below that finger is broken and mangled as Brian Carr calls it

Great insight! I think the suicide scenario makes a lot of sense. JA has said many times she was going to commit suicide; it is not a foreign concept to her. She would have the weapons readily available for her attack.

For all we know she could have pretended to be suicidal and had the gun pointed at her head or knife to her wrist. Travis may have stepped towards her to try and get the weapon(s) away and that's when she attacked. Just another one of my surprise! scenarios. But this one doesn't explain the camera and makes less sense to me.

By a lot of the jurors questions to Samuels I get the feeling they are mocking him. I feel Juan has brought out the fact that this guy is very unprofessional considering his 35 years of experience, his lack of organization, leaving/forgetting pertinent information in his office, changing score sheets, lying, lying, lying. Having sympathy for Jodi, buying her a book, a card goes against psychologists ethical code. I would love to know what Jodi did for Samuels to get him to vouch for her... Were their meetings in private? :blushing::what: Just curious. I wonder what Samuels take is on her past sexual behaviours? :crush: So from what I understand, he saw Jodi for two years, 12 times equal about every other month. I wonder if he still pays visits to her.

Years ago I worked in a counselling office and our psychologists would "never" buy books for patients. Mind you they would "loan" them, but never purchase them with the intent of allowing a patient to keep them. Dr. Samuels' goose is in the pot thanks to Juan. He's fully cooked. If JW only realized the more she talks and questions, the more Juan is going to prove her wrong. JW and Jodi have a gift of gab, that's for sure.

Was she sending us "the Finger"? Or was she sending her expert witness Samuels "the Finger"?

It was without a doubt a deliberate "the Finger". :laughcry:

Wasn't there a recent court ruling (not sure if it was a state issue or...) determining that it is legal to give LE the 'finger'?

I don't think it was deliberate. If it was, it was a dumb, childish thing to do. So maybe it was deliberate. After all, JA has the maturity of a tween... or a 12 year old, more likely...

deliberate.

We seem to be seeing more subtle acting out incidents with her.

I have to agree... I would be more likely to chalk it up to an accident but the other day she was blatantly rolling her eyes at JM and shaking her head during the questioning... She clearly is having trouble keeping her bitterness to herself! Having your middle finger up like that just feels weird because as a culture, we don't really have the middle finger up solo too often unless there is a purpose! JMO!

The problem is you are thinking about it, rather than actually experiencing someone stabbing you with a knife.

We get this a lot, people who just can't believe a healthy male could be stabbed to death by a girl (a GIRL!) simply because she's holding a knife and he's not.

Rather than think about it, here's a useful experiment which will require the following equipment:

1. A 1" paint brush

2. Paint

3. A 12 year old girl.

Have the 12 year old girl daub the paint brush with red paint. Try to really annoy the 12 year old girl. Then instruct the 12 year old girl to use the paint brush as if it were a knife.

Try to take the paint brush away from her.

What will happen is you will start to get paint on your hands. If you try to grab the paint brush, it will slid through your hands. Obviously it won't cut your hand down to the (very useful) tendons by trying to grab it, but you can note the theoretical damage. Once you get paint on your hands you are now no longer allowed to use your hands. Trying to grab the 12 year old girl in a bear hug will result in you getting paint on your chest, stomach, face etc. At which point you might think it's a good idea to start running so as to figure out how to stop getting paint on you. At which point you will have paint all over your back.

Keep in mind that an actual knife is harder to grab, hurts more and actually does damage.

Oh, and this isn't a facetious experiment. Having done a lot of survival and primitive skills stuff with people who have thought wrong about a lot of stuff, using dummy knives is the best way to teach people that what they think they will do isn't what's actually going to happen and disarming people with knives is the sort of thing that you see in movies which, like blowing up gas tanks, is a lot harder to do in reality.

As a general rule of thumb you should plan on the person having the weapon (yes, even a GIRL!) such as gun, knife, baseball bat, etc winning the conflict whereas the person without a weapon (even manly men) tends to lose.

Wet, naked, ambushed guys who have been socialized since they were zygotes not to hit girls (or anyone, for that matter) have a distinct disadvantage.

post of the day for me, thanks!
