I have wondered if JA secretly taped TA in phone sex on May 10 and then threatened to use it to scare potential girlfriends away or expose him to church people later in May. This could have prompted the texts from TA to JA on May 26 when he calls her a sociopath and "worst thing that ever happened to me."
Here is my question: maybe TA researched whether taping without consent is legal in CA and once he found it is not (I think that is correct although I am not sure it is true if the person being taped is in AZ) he called her (early AM calls on June 2nd?) and threatened to report her to law enforcement ( or get his PPL attorney to sue her etc.). This then sent her over the edge.... She heads to AZ and calls him On 6/3 saying she will drop by with her Helio phone (the one she had replaced by insurance unbeknownst to him after the one with the recording was lost/stolen/HIDDEN) to prove to him she has erased the phone sex recording.... He is relieved and lets her in and horror follows.

quite plausible imo. I think if she had told him about the tape recording, no way would he have not taken assertive ( non violent!) action.

It seems like he changed it DURING the trial, right? I mean, why waste jurors' time going on and on about it then say she does NOT have this???

Is this a situation where he was throwing things out there willy nilly hoping something will muddy the waters enough to cause reasonable doubt?

I think that is exactly what he was doing, but he got so much criticism from other professionals on the media over the Fri./Sat./Sun. break that when he came back Monday Wilmott had him back off of the whole "global" thing.

I am thinking that Jodi thought their secret travel life was to continue even after she moved to Yreka, whether or not he dated others. Travis told her he was coming to visit her in Y during their phone sex conversation. The middle of the night phone calls could have been sexy time as well, thus giving Arias additional justification to feel that the breakup was just a breakup as far as the world knew. They had already secretly been traveling and screwing, so naturally she would be discreet and they could continue.

After all the phone sex and debasement she had taken and even initiated, for him to take that from her and then threaten to ruin her opportunity to reattach to another rich PPL guy (after she had given up so much, in her view).

I feel quite certain Travis said things to her as they fought on June 4th which hit far too close to home. Might have said she is like a man liking oral sex, anal sex and testosterone, might have said he wonders if her bottom is normal and that he is inexperienced really and she could be a he/she for all she knows.

You can see her feeling like she would have to kill him for saying she wasn't all woman despite the nose job, the boob job, the clit job or whatever job.

Pure speculation, folks, just throwing it out there.

I tend to agree with the person who believes moving back to Yreka may have been part of her murder plan, for the simple reason that everything she did that shows premeditation involved sneaking in and out of Arizona undetected.

If she intended to stay in the relationship she would have no reason to rent a car from a city 100 miles away, borrow/buy 3 gas cans so she wouldn't have to fill up in Arizona, turn her cell phone off the part of her trip she was in or near Arizona, establish an alibi for her trip, or dye her hair brown. Or steal her grandfather's gun and make it look like a burglary.

If she remained in Mesa, she knew she'd be the #1 suspect.

So I doubt they had any argument on June 4. I doubt he ever thought she wasn't all woman; he was too inexperienced to know how other women were sexually. I doubt she had any illusion Travis would ever take her to Cancun--his friends who were going were vocal in their dislike of JA. And she certainly knew she'd never be his wife.

As far as her bottom, my husband is a general physician who has examined many thousands of female private parts and says she is completely normal, and better than many. As far as women liking oral and anal sex, both are common among ordinary women, some more than others, and an endless number of young, wholesome-looking, gorgeous girls voluntarily participate in sex videos. You can find 18-year-old Miss Delaware Melissa King's sex video online right now. Some even enjoy extreme S&M, which I don't get but whatever floats their boat.

As someone else said, men who encounter a nymphomaniac at first feel they have won the lottery, until they see everything else that comes with it. She clearly drove him nuts, wouldn't shut up, kept prying into his personal affairs, did something he said hurt him more than he'd ever been hurt in his life.

Her handwriting shows she is very resentful of criticism, and however she may have pretended it didn't bother her, imo she was angered and humiliated to be called the things he called her. She had known for nearly a year that he planned to date with marriage in mind, and it pointedly did not include her. The only way she could prevent it and keep him as hers forever was to kill him. The 5/26 texts brought it to a head and the gun was 'stolen' just two days later, but I suspect it was bubbling in her head for some time.

I agree. I would also think if the text did, in fact, corroborate the Spidey story it would have been displayed on the projector in big letters during the defense's presentation. The fact that is wasn't (IIRC) even discussed further than what is in that link speaks volumes, in my opinion.

No -- I have found where it was supposedly on 4/6/08. I have found other places claiming it to be on 2/25 but I think that is incorrect. The date Nurmi brought it up in court was 2/19/2013.

Here's an embarrassing OT: I'm such a lightweight that I'm really a cheap date (w/hubby) I can drink half a martini and everything becomes so funny and then the giggles kick in. I agree. I do think Cancun was salt in an already gaping wound but I don't believe that, solely in and of itself, was ever motive for his murder.

I don't believe it's a coincidence that this is an intimate partner homicide and many, many times such a homicide occurs when the victim is leaving the relationship. Or soon thereafter.

i think the reason she stuck with serving----and she even told JM she never thought of doing anything else----is because work meant nothing to her. she could make some spending money and she liked that. for big ticket things, she relied on ex-BF's, grandma and mom. did she ever have her own place? didn't she always live with someone?

also, you can get a job and quit a job whenever you want if you have experience as a server. it's a good thing to know how to do because you can pretty much get a job. she liked that but the part she REALLY liked was that she could quit when one of her 'trips' came up if they wouldn't let her off.

i bet there are servers all over california who hate her guts because they had to work with her.

Oh I think Jodi had a plan to better herself. The trouble was it always involved getting together with a man making more money or a get rich scheme like PPL. She wanted to be an artist and become famous or at least well known. But trying to build a photography career turned out to be real work and not just posting snapshots on the Internet.
