My mice start coming in sometimes when it gets warm outside! It makes no sense. I have a couple of dogs, and once, Daisy actually caught one. She alerts me to their presence.

I can't believe that I just wrote "my mice"---:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

So I toss them outside regardless of the weather, preferably more than a mile from my house where the state park is.

Sometimes they make a squeaking noise when I release them from the trap--really funny, and they run around, "Oh, FEH...!"--but I'm sure they settle down into the leaves, pine needles, etc. eventually. :seeya:

This is my first mouse ever. I do like your idea of releasing her far away. I don't need her telling all of her mouse friends and end up with an Underground Railroad for chilly mice leading to my house!

I'll admit, I'm getting a little attached, she's really cute. She watches me now when i fill up her little food bowl. I left cotton balls for her to make a bed....

On the plus side, I haven't named her and I only briefly considered buying a cage and keeping her.

My husband thinks I'm nuts

Just don't let them come to my house, or they're gonners. lol

Love anything except roaches and mosquitoes pretty much...my son is a boy after my own heart. We found 2 girls at the humane society and my son fell in love...girls must be in colonies of three or more to do well mentally and socially so we got a third girl at a pet store. 2 have names from the Star Wars Clone Wars animated series...named the third after the girl mouse in The Rescuers. And to try and make this somewhat on topic they always seem to run in their wheel during the trial and their wheel is loud on the glass bottom of their cage and it gets soooo frustrating when the live feed only goes so high in volume and Murmur and Wilmott don't speak loudly. I end up taking the stupid wheel out much of the time.

Not sure I can link to this but was reading someone else's theory and they say that perhaps Jodi traded her grandparents' DVD player or the stereo for the 2 gas cans Daryl had. I knew she said she had to give Daryl a remote but the trade theory is a good possibility.

I was thinking along similar lines, only that she gave it to him. Didn't she say she had to return a DVD player, or a DVR and forgot to give him the remote?
