Rosemary P, how is your grandbaby?

Hey ILTBP.....Well he is good today (he's my son) we have been trying to keep this weekend as normal as possible.
He's supposed to start chemo next Thursday....the oncologist said this will be a year long (at least) process. We are just trying to take it one day at a time.

Thanks for asking....you all are great! I have laughed many times today ready the comments about Thursdays testimony....and I haven't laughed in days.

JA checked out as soon as that woman opened her mouth. Never saw her that quiet!!!!!

After watching more of these interviews, I think it's clear she gets a big kick of of playing with these detectives. It's chilling to me-----even more than the TV interviews. She's not the least bit bothered by this whole thing.

A normal person who killed a guy they love, even in self defense, absolutely would not act this way.

I know right? Sheesh, they are chilling. She is sooo not there. Not a word.

Seeing these with all of the singing she is doing gives me the chills. My God, did she break out in song while killing Travis? I would believe it. :thud:

Yeah the results of CA's case speaks for itself. I'm for a speedier trial, but not CA speedy, with things so speedy that the perp got off completely without taking the time to examine evidence.

Of course...but that verdict was not Perry's fault, IMO. And, if CA took the stand, she would not have walked.

Oh for God's sake, she was calling the family every week? She wanted to call more often but didn't want to look obsessive?? Yeah, good luck with that Jodi.

Travis' family is still wearing their ribbons. The spectators are not allowed to wear the ribbons anymore.

:dunno: Maybe her family is wearing the ribbons b/c they realized they are victims of the defendant. :puke:

So glad to hear they can still wear their ribbons. Thank you for clarifying that.

Travis' friends said that he went to his bishop after Jodi moved back to Yreka. They said he was in the repentance process. Mimi Hall testified that he told her he was not "temple worthy," which means he was on probation and would not be permitted to attend temple ceremonies. I did not hear anyone say he was disfellowshipped. When he came forward voluntarily, repentant, he would agree to give her up (she's gone--yay!) as a condition of not receiving punishment.

That bishop would contact her bishop and may have done that. Her being called in to the bishop's office in Yreka would have been of no concern to her in my theory because everyone in Yreka already knew her and knew her family. To put it nicely, she had nothing to lose. She could tell that bishop that she was the one telling Travis to confess and how happy she was that he followed her advice and OF COURSE she was repentant and believed in the Book of Mormon, the Ten Commandments, and anything else he wanted to hear.

All things being equal, women have historically received lesser punishments for the same sin (adultery for example) because they are considered less culpable for whatever reason. My bishop told me I was not considered as responsible because I didn't have the priesthood.

When Jodi moved back to Mesa, she would have been able to tell her new bishop in the singles ward, which remember was A DIFFERENT WARD from Travis, she would tell him "I already spoke in detail with my bishop in Yreka and it was a very difficult conversation--I cried and poured my heart out to him and felt much closer to the Lord after we spoke." That new bishop would consider the matter taken care of. He would see that no disciplinary action had been taken on her record. There is seldom any verbal communication or fact checking because these are spiritual matters and we can all see how JA could come off as completely sincere and believable even while lying her 🤬🤬🤬 off.

It has been established that JA contacted Travis' bishop AFTER his death for the purpose of milking him for information. I understand she called him in the middle of the night to see what he knew. JM asked her about this on the stand.

Finally, I have never heard any callings mentioned that Travis held. Probably, due to his travel schedule with PPL, he would not have been able to assume the normal responsibilities of a priesthood holder in Mormonism, which is that he would receive a calling such as being a teacher in a study class, lead a youth group, be a boy scout leader, a men's group leader, etc.

ALV was completely WAY off when she suggested that TA had some kind of implied spiritual leadership responsibility because he was a "priest." All the men are priests from age 12.

Some of the behaviors which others may consider deviant for a 30 year old man are quite common in men who are functioning in fundamental religions with an emphasis on repressing personal sexuality, not just sexuality with others. Sexual behavior is heavily influenced by the environment, i.e., the lack of appropriate sexual outlets. An example of this is homosexual behavior in prisons is considered episodic because the inmates return to heterosexuality when they are released from incarceration. These studies have nothing to do with whether or not the sex acts are sinful, deviant, or normal, they are just observations of sexual behaviors under different environments.

Thanks for all the questions, websleuthers. I am trying to provide accurate information for understanding the behavior of the murderer and her victim in this case.

I don't intend to discuss the Mormon religion per se, but only those elements which are important for the success of the prosecution of this vile woman.

If this is not ok with you mods, please delete and I will not post here any further about maintaining appearances in the Mormon/PPL culture as a motive for murder.

I love websleuths and enjoy reading all your smart observations and witty remarks.

Thank you for a very insightful post. I have a question that has been nagging at me since we have seen the shower pictures. Do you think that it is possible that Travis was praying and crying during the shower photos. He had once again broken his vow of chastity. I don't know, but the one shower photo with hands to his chest and another one where he appears to be crying. If you look at the one where it appears that his eyes are red and their is snot coming out of his nose. It was just a thought.

Wow, this is just too wonderful that David Lohr uploaded the unedited interrogation tapes! We are so lucky to get to see all of this, especially thinking there'd be nothing new to see until Tuesday.

A big and sincere thanks out to David Lohr!

Absolutely!

I have been watching for over an hour and these videos are captivating. Being able to observe JA's demeanor without interruptions is priceless.

MOO

Unless the jurors choose to speak with the media after the trial and make it public they served on this jury, no one is supposed to know who they are. Now, since this is a high-profile case, and assuming co-workers of the jurors are following the case even slightly, they would know who is on the jury if on a day off that person shows up for work. I would hope the jurors are NOT expected to work during "off" days, however, in some jurisdictions they don't receive pay unless they do. That is wrong, in my opinion.

:(

And then there is that Darn HoneyDo List. I bet these jurors will be busy and i hope they have a great Easter Weekend with their family and friends.

Even if she hadn't murdered Travis, if she had feelings she would still be weeping constantly. More so if she hadn't done it and was being accused.

Umm excuse me "missy" you are not a guest here. You are a prisoner!

MORE LIKE "Queen of Hearts" lol

??? ok am I really gonna sit here on a Friday night and watch a marathon of uninterrupted JA interrogation videos?
You bet I am!

I'm going in! Send someone for me if I'm not back in the morning! :seeya:
interrigation videos?

Please, can we all agree never to call this <modsnip> a queen ever again> tia

I don't have the patience to go back and read but did anyone hear that Travis bought a ring not sure if it was a friendship or engagement ring for someone. From what I understood it wasn't for Jodi. So I wonder who it was for? Anyway it turned up missing after Jodi kept coming over uninvited. Wonder what happened to it?

Of course...but that verdict was not Perry's fault, IMO. And, if CA took the stand, she would not have walked.

Well...see they were about speedy. Yeah they were sequestered and speedily wanted to get back to their lives. So yeah everything went fast...but my point is that things moved along but there was not a lot of time to stop and really look at through evidence....since they ended up having some major misunderstandings of their job in the end. The whole rush-through thing backfired. At least with this case there is so much time to process and REALLY see all the evidence

I'm watching the unedited interrogation tapes that wereyou posted. On the first tape, 14:00-ish... she asked if his family was aware that they had a sexual relationship because she was "interested in protecting how he is remembered as well."

That's really rich. So much for that, huh Jodi?

Can you please point me in the direction on where to see them?

Most definitely hope they all have a Happy Easter and enjoy their long weekend!

According to AZCentral.com, the emails allegedly include “A response from Mr. Hughes … wherein he asserts that he believes Jodi would be his (Travis’) next victim and that Jodi was just another girl that he (Travis) was playing.”

There is also a response from Travis where he allegedly replied by writing: “I am a bit of a sociopath.”
found this on radaronline. :banghead:

I hope Juan rips this witness and DT to shreds. Another thing, I'm not saying anything wrong but that nice blonde lady that told about Jodi stalking her in the restroom (got her alone and warned her off Travis) at an event because Travis helped her to her seat when she had too much to drink said the Hughes have a fund set up for the Alexander family on their site. How many sites are collecting, is the family aware, collecting all monies? Anyone know?

~bbm

what witness are you talking about?

  • #520
Well, I will not say that the emails can't have an impact on the case, especially if [and that's a big if] they say what they are characterized as, so far. However, let's evaluate the worst possible scenario, that the emails do in fact show that Skye and Chris told JA that Travis was a "womanizer," or something to that effect, and there is also evidence that they believed the "forged" letters of pedophilia.

Assuming all that gets to the jury, it still doesn't show that Travis was physically abusive to JA or anyone else. It also does not erase the testimony from Deanna and Mimi who said that Travis was never physically abusive. Nor does it erase any of the mountains of premeditation evidence that points ONLY to 1st degree murder.

As far as the "pedo" letters go...well, if they believed them then it only shows that they were duped. Imagine if someone called you and said, "Hey, you know that [insert a very close friend of yours] is a pedophile right? You would likely respond, "There's no way." But, if that same person told you, "Would it change your mind if we have letters, handwritten by your friend, that admits to being a pedophile?" I think any rational person would say, "Well, if that is true, then I guess I would have to believe it." You might not expect that those letters were actually not true. I don't think that kind of exchange would indicate anything about Chris and Skye somehow believing that they had suspicions, or were not surprised, or anything other than just being confronted with what "appeared" to be strong evidence.

IMO, all this will be flushed out and stamped out in rebuttal. Chris and Skye can certainly offer context that will dispel the "worst case scenario" that we can all imagine concerning these emails. I trust that JM will bring it all home in the end. :rocker::twocents:

Yesterday I was discouraged after hearing about some of the emails. But, today I realized that I had put Travis on some sort of a pedestal. So what that I was wrong? It just means that Travis need not be idolized just because he was a victim of a horrible murder. He was a "guy". A human being with worts and everything like everyone else. He may have fallen short of his Mormonism, but he was still a pretty great guy.

So what if he was a "player"? So are half the young men his age. By no stretch of the imagination is this abuse, IMO. It is what it is.

The point is, Travis NEVER physically abused Jodi to cause her to fear for her life and butcher him like she did.

I feel better now that the emails won't matter to the jury. Speaking of emails, I learned last night that it is possible for someone to hack into another persons email account and send fake emails, making them look like they came from the real account holder. I've read that JA hacked TA's email and bank accounts, but I've never heard what she actually did with those hacked accounts. Was it just reading his email and looking at his financial situation? Or did she do something worse?
