I could never understand why women continue to wear heels that kill their feet. I still have some of mine but never wear them. I like the flats. It's harder to fall off them.

Yes, but if you are like me, we are older and much wiser! :)

Jodi has already admitted to killing Travis. She claims self-defense but unless this juror commented on something specific I don't see how defense will win this one. Remember Judge Perry asking potential jurors who said they thought KC was guilty if they could put that aside and judge her fairly. Some said yes and were accepted. Some said no and were immediately dismissed. The judge was right there so I would think if it were something this person could not be fair in her judgment the judge would have dismissed her immediately. jmo

BBM

I don't think so. I think they have to have a hearing because it's a mistrial motion. I'm pretty sure about that. Hopefully a lawyer will weigh in.

THANK YOU Steely!!!!!!!!!! That's who she reminded me of!!!!!!!! It was driving me crazy!!!!!

I wish I could take credit for that but I think it was Vinnie Politan that said that, but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure it was a talking head.

What exactly did this juror allegedly do that warrants a mistrial?

We don't know. Beth Karras said that she said some things that were favorable to the prosecution. If she said something like; "I saw on TV last night that Jodi kicked a dog and it ran away." Then that should be cause for a mistrial, except in Arkansas. <---- WM3 reference.

Could someone please tell me who blabbed that it was juror 5 that had said or done someting...which juror number should not be public knowledge. Hum could it be the dt?

Yes, in their motion the DT identifies the juror.

We'll be lucky if this is resolved by the end of lunch recess. There's also the hearing with the InSession employee.

What's the Insession thing about?

Okay, so I read Nurmi's motion. He seems bound and determined to get a mistrial. My question is, why? He can't possibly think another trial is going to go any better than this one. Does he think JM will be more agreeable to a plea rather than starting over?

He would probably re-think putting her on the stand! :twocents:

I think he'd just have her better prepared. If she's gonna claim self defense she pretty much has to take the stand. I think Gus and Dr. Samuels wouldn't be on the witness list anymore. JMO

This is who she reminds me of.........

In that case, she should consider it a compliment.

If JA is your client this is what you're reduced to every day: praying for some slip, some extra-curricular or supernatural happenstance that will distract some jurors or perhaps even deliver the possibility of a do-over.

She asked Jodi to define '🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.' At least Jodi Ann THINKS she's narrowed down the meaney-pants juror with all the pointy questions and she wants her outta there. Just my theory but I'd put money on it.

I am the same way...I probably own 2 pairs and they are 2 inches at most.. I live in flats and comfy shoes..! Definitely no sex in the city girl here.
Off track. Carry on.

Not off track. If ALV wears comfortable shoes, at her age, I can see why she would. A younger ALV may have worn heels. It was interesting the other day when she needed a glasses. An older gentleman, her age, brought her case up and put it on the table for her to retrieve her glasses. I was thinking he might be her husband.

I've missed a lot of posts the last few days (spending family time because they are TIRED of mom and her trial), so I apologize if this has been discussed already. But didn't the judge say the jurors would be questioned one by one, and not as a group? If that's the case, this one particular juror must have said something that set the DT off, but it wouldn't contaminate the other jurors, right?

But she might have said it while she was waiting with the other jurors. And maybe when another juror was asked , while alone, if any of the others had said anything biased, they might have brought it up. JMO

While I think it is just a bunch of carp and there is nothing wrong with the juror, I don;t have a problem with releasing her as long as the trial continues. This is just part of the "throw as much carp as you can and hope some technicality sticks". Defense knows they don;t have a chance in heck of winning the trial with the simple truth, so they have to kick and protest at everything.

This is a juror who supposedly took a lot of notes and I guess the defense didn't like that. So let the defense kick and fuss and demand and file their little protest papers. Give them their way on this because in the end, Jodi WILL be found guilty (because she IS guilty, she DID do it). Let's bend over backwards (no pun intended) to give then their way and she will STILL be convicted!! Mark my words (as Jodi said).

to follow/agree w. post 1222 by Liebchenmutti...
"I don't think you can scare Jodi Ann. She only responds to a male she perceives she can seduce into buying her story. That's why Det. Flores was so awesome, IMO, b/c she only turned on him after he didn't get seduced! That's why she refers to him on the stand as "Flores." Contemptuous little thing when she's rejected sexually, isn't she?

"If someone could play an effective "bad cop" I don't know what sex he or she should be. Any ideas?"

-----------------------------------------------------------

I don't think anyone or any pair could be an effective Good Cop-Bad Cop re interrogating Jodi.

I know there are many 'types' of women that wear Birkies.. I just lived in SF and Bezerkely too long...saw plenty. Making an observation that Birkenstocks was a go to shoe for gender bending women is not being judgmental, it was purely an accurate observation. I have also seen many other women wear them and looked very cute!

I live in very rural Montana....we have a very different view :floorlaugh: BUT I do agree with the important part of your assessment of ALV-she is a total man basher!!!! Truce?

I did spend 6 months in SF ...if I were ever to be forced to live in a city--i would choose that area :)

I want to tell her the Defense tried to kick her out, they don't like you.
And then she gets to stay. :)

Imo, it's because if there is no mistrial he is going to lose. Better to get a mistrial, because he won't be representing her if it comes to another trial.

Exactly. He wants out before the ship sinks.

I imagine the DT went into that interview with an agenda of getting certain information from certain jurors. As much as we have our own court watchers study the jurors so do they. The Mitigation Specialist rarely removes her gaze from the jury. She watches them like a hawk. I'm sure they had a few target jurors they wanted to take a shot at getting booted.

Jodi has also been closely watching the jury the last few days and has been seen quickly whispering something to Jennifer once they leave. Something is catching her eye.

I respect Beth Karas but why is it when HLN report anything or speculate about anything they always get it WRONG? I think we should wait until tomorrow. Maybe juror five did nothing of the kind. Maybe the DT made it up, like their list of witnesses (JA, RS and ALV) made things up. They have no credibility.

HLN, as a whole, gets a lot wrong, but Beth does not. I think she's one of the most accurate reporters in all of cable news. Now, Jean C is a different story. Her running off at the mouth is what got the whole, Juan taking pics outside the courtroom/oh noes! a juror may see it, thing rolling. I find it rather interesting that her on-air time has been reduced and by a lot, since this all happened. All the anchors were practically foaming at the mouth when they found out she was taking the stand.... Mike Galanos said he "couldn't wait to talk with her" and afterward, it was downplayed, as if it were no big deal. She was on toward the end of the day and then talked about it for 2 minutes on JVM, after that, it was all but forgotten.

I was wearing my birkies today. :) and consider myself boho. I don't think judging a juror's character is fair. Who knows what's going on.

Is Jean Casarez on vacation or in timeout?

What's the Insession thing about?

I'm not sure exactly. It has something to do with the Juan thing that happened on Thursday. Supposedly an employee named Grace Wong is going to be called to the stand. Someone posted here earlier that she is a producer that works with Beth Karas, but I don't know if that's accurate.

You read my mind! JC seems to be busy doing other things lately LOL She created a buzz and now the stuff is hitting the fan. I used to like her until I heard her call TA a "pervert". I had my back to the TV the day she said it and I spun around, not believing what I heard, but there, under her face, was the caption....Alexander A Pervert. It made me sick and I couldn't believe she said it on national television. I wondered then if she was told she HAD to take that side for ratings vs the other TH's. I just can't look at her the same way now.

Nurmi is just following one of the many leads the Jodi Is Innocent web peeps keep sending him. Cause you know they are credible.

I am just disgusted by not only the enormous costs of the trial but the continual stalling and wasting of the court's time by the defense. The trial should have been over by now.

You would think since the court costs have come out the defense would be embarrassed enough than to pull any more stunts
