Looking for a specific missing person's case

Hello everyone, new member here.

I remember reading about a certain missing person's case several years ago-probably more than ten. It was a woman who was trying to make it as a model , but couldn't make it skyrocket. She was more than 30 yrs old and pretty depressed about not accomplishing her professional goals. Right before she disappeared, she had told her brother she had booked a modelling job-something he didn't believe. After her vanishing, the police interrogated her brother, since he was found living in her appartment and using her credit cards (?) but never found any wrongdoing on his part. The case was anywhere from late 70's to early 90's. I've been trying to check for updates on this one but can't seem to find this case anywhere.

Did I dream about it? Does it ring any bells for any of you?
Any kind of help will be much appreciated.

Do you remember if the apartment was in New York, New Jersey, any more specifics?

Do you remember her hair color, anything like that?

The situation doesn't sound familiar to me, but someone here is likely to put enough pieces together.

Yes omg that's her!!!!! Thank you sooooo much! I got the time frame wrong, it was early 2000's I'm ready to fall down this rabbit hole-even though I suspect it's a suicide. Again, thank you so much, dear.
