Looooong Visits With JB

the video I saw on NG showed them not together. I think he may be done with the nonsense.

I don't think they need to meeting that long but Jose isn't stupid. If everything goes according to plan Jose he'll be making tons of money after this case is said and done. She might be trying to hide from bugs though. I'd assume cops would plan them and I heard the security company that installed the cameras searched for bugs?

She doesn't have to be with him at the office. She could be placed in an office and with one of his office workers. Reading the 400 pages and making notes. With him coming in as needed.

We don't know who is with her and what she is doing in that office. If she is playing or working.

Media is no longer allowed to be in the actual parking lot of the office building so I am across the street in the parking lot (actually in the grass) of a technical education center. Several other local media outlets are here waiting for Casey to come out of the office sometime soon since she has to be home at 6pm per her home confinement conditions. George Anthony's vehicle is backed into a spot in Baez's parking lot which clearly faces across the street. Help find Caylee is written across the back with a phone number. Waiting...... Are you Natisha or did I mis-understand your post?

I bet KC was extremely disappointed that she didn't get to hang out at JB's on Friday. He did stop by on Friday night but that was for "only" and hour and a half. I bet she was pouting but I guess beggars can't be choosy. Well there's always Monday to look forward to.

You know, something keeps running through my head that a woman I used to work for always said (and she was a state supreme court justice). She said it was important, of course, to avoid impropriety. It was equally, if not more important, to avoid the appearance of impropriety, because that is often harder to overcome. IMHO, we don't know for sure what's going on at JB's office, but in my opinion, this is not the way attorneys normally work. What this amounts to, at the very minimum, is that dreaded appearance of impropriety.

this is so true! My husband work for a large company. One of their human resources guidelines are for co-workers of opposite sex not to go out to lunch alone because of the appearance of impropriety that you mentioned. It certainly gives off a bad impression and vibe. But Baez does not appear to be the smartest of attorneys or men....JMHO based on my personal observations

I'm not so sure I would find this a big deal at all. How does this affect anything?

We don't know how much discovery information JB has. KC has to go through it all, and tell her side of the story. We only saw 400 pages, we don't know what interviews that LE kept close to the vest. There is probably a lot more interviews we don't know about.

JB is gearing up for two cases, the theft and fraud, and the impending murder charge. It would profundly stupid on his part to not get her prepared for that.

She is a high profile client, he needs to keep an eye her. The house is probably tapped, the computers, the phones, everything. He has to make sure that he can talk to his client with out anyone eaves dropping.

I really just do not see why the fuss over it. JMHO

we are commenting that is not usual or customary for attorney's to spend so much time with one client... can't recall any other case where we witnessed this kind of attorney client relationship...maybe amy fisher and her attorney??? There is something not normal in how they interact. that's all.

If they are smart Baez is having KC talk to counselors, psych people, and experts to get a jump on things in case she is charged with murder. That might account for some hours she is at the office.

  • #150
True. Altho, I don't see him doing this for just ANY client. This must be a new strategic move for him to practically allow his client to move in his office, but I am sure he will be paid very well in the long run...even when/if he loses. :waitasec:

I would STRONGLY suggest his wife stay around that office while she is there, or what he makes could be spent in divorce court.

you got that right! Maybe she's on to something :waitasec:

the beauty of all of this is that the truth always comes out and time will tell. So, there is no need to argue. We are just discussing that their behavior is suspicious and not what is considered "reasonable and customary" JMHO!!!!

As you know, my brother is an attorney and he said this was a dangerous situation for any attorney to be involved. He said there are ethical questions and maybe even legal problems with this. What if Casey "decides" that Baez made sexual advances to her? What if he did or even she did?

In his opinion this is just another fortuitous circumstance looking for a place to happen.

One thing it is doing in his opinion is taunting LE, and the judicial system in Orlando and that is never a good idea for a criminal attorney.

Discovery information? There has been no discovery yet.

He is taking a large risk with not only his reputation, but his future by taunting LE like this. There are consequences to this type of behavior.

Many attorneys feel this is unethical by taking advantage of the judicial system rules.

He really should know better than to mess around with situations that have the appearance of impropriety.
And Casey...Hmmmm...the question is, would she say whatever whenever if it suited her, as long as it worked to her advantage? Didn't she tell some big lies on those tapes to LE? Baez must trust her an awful lot.

This is just so true. Baez may think this is a game, but he appears to be in over his head. There are folks that can (and I believe will) make his life a living hell.

It won't happen now. It would be too obvious. But down the road, when Casey is not such a media hotcake, oh boy, it is going to happen....

There is not any possibility he is working on legal matters at this point.

They could have the Neuremburg trials ready to go with the hours already spent...:smiliescale:

The appearance of impropriety and the way he is putting his career on the line is a whole other issue...this guy doesn't seem to be thinking things through.

Turbo you know I first thought that if they would deny her going to lawyers office then they would cry unjust on appeal if it comes to that which we know it will. So my thought was she asked and they went ahead and gave her all the time she asked for. Which is very sad alot of ppl don't get this attention from lawyers even if they are innocent.

This is far from taunting LE.

It is far from unethical.

The police interviews, intergations, and investigations are discovery.

It is unusual, but everything about this case is unsettling and unusual. I really see this different then everyone else i suppose.

If JB wants his client at his office, then that is there business. I don't see why it would be any concern of ours, it does not offer evidence to guilt or innocence.

Looks like I'm missing the point of this thread. I'm not trying to start a fight or an argument. But it appears to me to be nitpicking a situation and looking for things to gossip about.

I guess it is just a discussion for the sake of discussion.

Baez originally requested for Casey to spend all that time at his office as there was no one to watch her in the house and Geoge and Cindy were going to work. Most likely, she is sitting in a room, watching television, talking on the phone and going on the internet. This is not fair as had she done this at home her internet and her phone would have been monitored. Now she is free to make whatever calls she wants.
The biggest concern is that Casey uses sex to get what she wants. I am sure that she has tried to seduce Baez, and perhaps even if he has not sucummed to her, he is enjoying the flirtation. It is not proper what is going on in that office as Baez is abusing the judicial system. While LE cannot deny the visits, they know that it is an attempt to get around the restrictions of home confinement. He probably agreed to let her come there every day when George and Cindy were at work. He is a glorified babysitter.

***True, it is taunting the entire city of Orlando, likely more... not just LE.

(because home confinement is not spelled F-R-E-E-D-O-M).

***The actual code of ethics suggests the appearance of impropriety is not ethical i.e. very close to,unethical

***Not all parts of those are discoverable under the rules of criminal procedure (see FLCRP)
