Two lost fishermen from the Pacific nation of Kiribati have been rescued after surviving 57 days in rough seas.

The Solomon Star newspaper says the men, Atabu Baiaa, 32, and Ruben Baeke, 22, went missing on March 15 in their outboard motor boat after bad weather prevented them from reaching their destination.

Before their rescue, the men survived by eating raw fish and drinking rain water.
