La to receive additional 200 ventilators from federal stockpile

In addition to the ventilators, Louisiana is getting several hundred thousand surgical gowns for the medical community in the Greater New Orleans area.

To date, Louisiana has received a total of 553 ventilators. The first shipment from SNS of 150 ventilators was announced on March 30 and arrived days later.

150 - SNS (an additional 200 are expected soon)
400 - Private vendors
3 - Louisiana National Guard

Hi Louisiana.....thought you might like this idea.....Walgreen's left text message that I can ask for anything and pick it up at the drive through. I love the idea as I am not going in to any stores unless emergency. Told daughter but she had not heard about it. Maybe it is going out to the "old people"......or perhaps to those who get regular prescription refills there.....often at the window.
Hugs.....Lato

rightttt. if I was able to be reading and watching what was going on with coronavirus, then so were you, governor. you CHOSE to ignore the warnings.

(i live in sweden, and was supposed to be going (home) to mardi gras, but i got too worried about the way things were unfolding in china, italy, and iran, and cancelled my trip. looks like i wasn't being "paranoid," after all. :( )

Louisiana governor claims he had no idea New Orleans Mardi Gras would trigger a coronavirus outbreak | Daily Mail Online

i was raised presbyterian, but religion will be the undoing of the entire south. :(

Killed by a virus he thought had been overhyped

"Pastor Landon Spradlin wasn't worried about coronavirus when he went to New Orleans to preach during Mardi Gras. A month later he was dead."

Copying over from the main thread since they'll probably delete my post there as usual:

If there's anyone in the NOLA area near Loyola who might be willing to help my son with getting groceries etc., please PM me. He's stuck alone in an apartment off-campus with no car/transportation, little money (I'll help him as much as I can, which won't be easy), and an Uber would cost more than he has for groceries. I'll try to look into some potential delivery options today but I think most have a minimum order requirement and I'm swamped/behind at work and need to focus on catching up. TIA.

  • 16,284 cases across the state
  • 582 deaths reported
  • 63 parishes now affected by outbreak
  • More than 4,000 cases in New Orleans
  • Some signs state is flattening the curve
Louisiana leaders are growing optimistic that the state is potentially beginning to see signs of flattening the curve of the COVID-19 health crisis, but they warn it’s still too early to tell.

I am not going out for groceries, but ther are options. I use shipt. There is also insta cart that is delivering. But the best option might be waitr. They are now doing grocery delivery without an annual fee. For regular items, I have been ordering Walmart or target or dollar general and getting it shipped (cans and boxed or shelf foods, like pasta or whatever). Then I only have to get groceries delivered for cold and perishable items. Oh. If you have Amazon prime, whole foods is also delivering free. Seriously. Lots of options.

Thanks, when I checked the Prime/Whole Foods option yesterday morning, it was sold out. Some of the others I thought of had a minimum order requirement that exceeded what he could spend, etc. I'll check out other options you mentioned. Thanks.
