Sometimes I think people have this sort of view of mental illness psychiatrists are well aware that people can fake symptoms of mental illness, especially when they have somethignto gain, and have tests to rule it out (though they're not completely accurate of course). HOWEVER, I do find it suspicious that LM declined to request a mental evaluation by the crown... His own doctors will be testifying, but will they be paid as expert witnesses? :S

So does the crown know that LM was a cocaine user? Or he is painting the picture that a cocaine user could / would have same symptoms of schizophrenia?

LM had better get some better witnesses than this is he wants to be found NCR! I just had a look at the proposed defence witness list and there is no mention of the psychiatrist who diagnosed him or treated him over the years. If he's just going to rely on what his GP said rather than getting his psychiatrist to testify, that looks very, very, very suspicious imo.
