An online account linked to Mr. Magnotta by online sleuths tracked forum contributions using the assumed name “Katherine Tramell.” The name of the villain played by Ms. Stone in Basic Instinct was Catherine Tramell.

Just to add to what otto said, contrary to popular opinion, most Canadians don't speak or understand French, even though it's on all product labels. I theory, it's an official language, but it's only spoken mostly in the Quebec and New Brunswick area, and by federal politicians and bureaucrats. Some people send their kids to French immersion schools so they can get high paying government jobs.

The only official bilingual province in Canada is New Brunswick where both french and english is mandatory in everything.

I would add Ottawa (I know it's in Ontario ) to Quebec and NB where french is spoken.

It seems everyone that has been interviewed by the media knew or dated him briefly circa 5 years ago but none in the last two years.

We haven't heard from anyone (aside from the transsexual ex) who was associated with him (no former Coworkers) when he worked at the strip club.

We have heard from former escort clients via escort review sites, but no one saying they'd hire him again.

With such an enormous web of lies he created on the web, we can't seem to find one person who has had even the most basic human connection (like one happy birthday luka post) with Magnotta in the last two years...

Does this raise a huge red flag to anyone else?

I'm just catching up...went to bed last night when thread #3 was opened, but wanted to capture my thought and question when I read your post, Hastings. Hopefully the question hasn't been asked/answered down-thread.

My question is about reviews of him as an escort. I've seen the one review on "Jimmy" where the Beavis & Butthead comment was made, but haven't seen other reviews...has anyone else?

My thought as it relates to the lack of personal acquaintances as well as the lack of personal property at his Montreal apartment is that it all ties back to the extended pre-meditation of this crime. His blog post about how someone should disappear talks about slowly selling off your property and cutting people out of your life. He used 4 months as the amount of time you'd need to completely pull out of your old life, but the context wasn't around eluding worldwide law enforcement. I believe he's smart enough that he knew that would have to be planned for a much longer time. I also found that blog post interesting when it came to the forged passports, health cards, etc. Someone in an older thread had asked how he could afford really good fake documents and it's a great question! I can't figure out how he'd acquire those other than to literally steal someone's identity who looks like him (like physically steal a passport, driver's license, etc)...but really? Is that even plausible?

They have searched a bar and two hotels in a well-to-do northwestern district of the French capital, the police source said.

On Saturday the manager denied any visit by police.

"He was very nervous (and) he drank the Coke in one go. A man with an impressive physique came into the bar and started talking to him. They knew each other," the manager said, adding that they left together.

The daily also cited witness accounts that were "considered reliable" that the suspect was seen in two northern Paris suburbs
