Attorney: Officials denied Hernandez's request for cellmate

David Wedge, a spokesman for Kyle Kennedy's attorney, said Wednesday the two inmates at the maximum security prison in Shirley, Massachusetts, had asked to be cellmates last September. He said the request initially was approved but then denied.

Wedge didn't say why the request was denied, and prison officials didn't immediately comment.

Kennedy's attorney, Lawrence Army Jr., is speaking Wednesday about how the two inmates were connected.

Army has claimed one of three suicide notes Hernandez left in his cell before killing himself last week was addressed to Kennedy. He's requested the note be turned over to this client. Hernandez's lawyer says no such note exists. http://www.nydailynews.com/newswire...-hernandez-request-cellmate-article-1.3103043

I know next to nothing about prison life (thank heavens!) but I had no idea prisoners could make rooming requests. Sounds more like summer camp rather than a maximum security prison. Interesting tidbit, IMO.

rooming requests actually help the prison admins as well. One thing they really have to focus on seriously is how to choose who rooms with whom. Gang affiliations are the primary indicator.

But if 2 inmates are friends and can get along well, then it is good for the prison if those 2 are roomies. Less tension and fighting.

Re Presser: I have whdh link up, but still nothing....anyone have a live link working yet ?

This is an interesting PC. He is definitely calling out Baez imo

In the end, the attorney admits the 3rd letter is not addressed 'to anyone' ---and the only reason his client knows it is for him is because 'of how close they were...' WHA?

Just like Not Guilty doesn't mean innocent, other than in the eyes of the law. And that is what I am looking at. JMHO . But I agree with you, the crime can't be vacated. Sure was a lot of immunity following these cases and makes me wonder if in the long run it was worth it. Knowing what we know now.

BBM In the eyes of the law it just means Not Guilty. jmo

It is interesting that he thinks the reason parts of it don't make sense is because it is in a special prison language that his client would be able to read.

Also, in reply to myself...lol----

The attorney seemed to say thaT the supposed 'gifting' of the expensive watch, has not really happened, if ever, and the only 'proof' that AH was gifting it to the inmate was the inmates own recollections----apparently AH told Kennedy he would give him that watch for his 22nd birthday---

so that could have just been a bunch of talk and petty promises....

The feed I was watching kept glitching and buffering, so that added to my confusion...but it seemed fairly anti-climactic in the end. Like a big build up then a lot of 'maybes' ----I can now see why Baez felt comfortable ordering them to cease and desist...

I have a feeling he'll get that watch the same time Tonya Singleton's kids get those trust funds...never

well as promised nothing except honestly this "attorney" is doing a set up for his client KK to have a jailhouse interview to discuss the real truth about the relationship etc. I imagine his client thinks he can really use this "relationship" with AH for his own gain both now and after he is out. One interesting thing though is the atty said that KK new AH before Shirley...that sets me to wondering if AB knows him too? And who else Papoo? Never know.

AH did ask to share a cell with this guy. There has to be a reason for that.... I wonder if he had ever asked to share a cell with someone before.

yep about the same time. Unbelievable. This atty gave a detailed description of the custom watch that AH ordered for himself in Las Vegas...$47,000.00.
