"Report alleges PCP use by ex-NFL star Aaron Hernandez"

Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/08/2...aron-hernandez/?test=latestnews#ixzz2dGaLi5n0

"Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was allegedly a regular user of the hallucinogenic drug PCP, and had become so paranoid by heavy use that he had started carrying a gun wherever he went, according to a report due out this week in Rolling Stone magazine."

"The story, written by magazine contributing editor Paul Solotaroff, also alleges that Hernandez's college coach at the University of Florida, Urban Meyer, "may have helped cover up failed drug tests" by Hernandez, as well as an assault and a drive-by shooting outside a local bar in Gainesville, Fla."

"Hernandez might have never made it to NFL stardom had coaches at his University of Florida swept their star tight end’s problems under the rug, Rolling Stone reported."

"He failed drug tests and brutally beat a Gainesville waiter, in incidents that only came to light after Hernandez’s arrest this past summer."

"Then-Florida coach Urban “Meyer kept us at such a distance,” said a reporter who covers the Gators football team, “or flat-out lied, that we couldn’t verify a pot suspension.”

"Hernandez frequently missed Patriots practices and hung out with thugs, ticking off coach Bill Belichick, who in March threatened to kick him off the team, the mag reports."

“I think (the case) is not only beatable, (but) I think he will be back in the NFL within three or four years,” Rolling Stones contributing editor Paul Solotaroff said on The Doug Gottlieb Show. “I think they’ve grossly overcharged him based on the case they’re building – no direct eye witness, no murder weapon (and) no plausible motive.”

Oh, for the love of everything holy! If he manages to beat this, and that's a big IF, no coach or owner would want him in the NFL, especially in light of the allegations that he used PCP on a daily basis. I can only hope that LE can link him to the other two murders.

Let's face it, he should have never been drafted into the NFL, with his record. I wonder how many other assaults and murders he could be involved in?

JMO, IMO, :moo:, and all disclaimers.

Thank you for this article Blondie in Spokane.

It seems that Belichick was getting a little fed up with AH, doesn't it? If he only knew the half of what his "star" player was doing, I don't think he would have waited until the end of the 2013 season to cut him....

That guy obviously isn't a trial watcher. IIRC, the gun involved in the double murders was brought to them by a person who was asked to hide it. She didn't know what it had been used for.

Also, the murder of Odin Lloyd, it's believed, is because he was talking to the "wrong people". That's very vague and I think the cops are holding their cards close to the chest on that.

As far as being back in the NFL. I highly doubt that any team wants a psychopath in their locker room.

Although I've heard some gross stories of a pro bowl caliber guy doing gross things and still staying on the team. However, he wasn't a dangerous psychopath.

Garcia, a confirmed member of the Bloods gang, was introduced to the officers by name and department and then voluntarily spoke with police investigators, according to an affidavit filed by Daniel Dougherty, a captain with the Connecticut Department of Corrections, that was included in Friday’s filing.

“One of the officers told Garcia that he could probably figure out why they were there,” Dougherty wrote. “Garcia said that it had to be related to the Hernandez case.”

Dougherty added that Garcia’s conversations with police included discussions about Hernandez, Ernest Wallace, and “Charlie-Boy.”

For Hernandez, Elba Ortiz has just one question: Why?

"I'm mad. I'm very angry about it," she said. "I have a lot of emotion toward Aaron, because he was supposed to be our friend, Carlos' friend.

"I'm trying to forgive him, but why did Aaron do this? We don't know. That's the question we want answered. Why did he include my son in this? You're supposed to be friends, why did you need to include my son?"

Elba Ortiz came out of seclusion to "set things straight," she says in Spanish with her daughter, Carmen, translating. She wants the world to know her son, while no angel, is "a good boy."

saw urban meyer getting interviewed on espn this weekend..he was asked what he thought of what the interviewer thought was his unpopularity among his peers, ncaa head football coaches, myer feigned ignorance about the subject. but players talk,,and if was doing stuff like that, it no doubt got back to his peers, which might explain why, in the words of the interviewer, some would like to take a swing at him. meyer said, in short, i'm not aware of it, but if its so, bring em on. i can handle myself.

in the words of al davis: just win baby.

Not surprised one bit that all the stuff comes out now, makes you wonder what is being covered up for the rich and famous we don't know about. Pretty brave of Rolling Stone saying he'll be back in the league, plenty a case has been won on circumstantial evidence alone.

Thanks TexMex for posting this great article. AH is one nasty piece of work. I really hope they can link him to those other shootings. One thing is for sure, Belechick made a huge mistake with him.

JMO, IMO, :moo:, and all other disclaimers.

Your right Belichick made a huge mistake drafting him, but only a mistake in hindsight. Hernandez came out of college with some red flags, but tons of players that play every single Sunday came out the same way. Nothing in those read flags read potential multiple murderer, at worse he seemed like a guy that might snort, smoke, or inject his way out of the league. People seem to be forgetting Belichick drafted Hernandez in the 4th round. Which for non-football followers is extraordinarily late for someone of his talent level, the guy was arguably the best TE to come that year, and unarguably a first rounder based on his talent alone.

It's funny a few teams are falling over themselves to proclaim they took off their draft boards... like Cincinnati (like they have room to talk), and Miami (the team that signed Lawrence Phillips and Brandon Marshall at one time). But I remember this draft (I'm a bit of a draftnik) and rumor at the time was the Saints were poised to snap him up as well as many teams putting the 4th rd. as his floor. So if the Patriots hadn't taken him where (at the time of the draft mind you) his reward outweighed his risk, someone else would have within the next few picks without a doubt.

I know most of the hate is coming from Patriots haters, because there are a lot of them. But they are taking way to much heat, was that Milwaukee chocolate factory in any way responsible for Jeffrey Dahmer? Nope. Or the fertilizer sales place and Scott Peterson? How about was it Leslie Nielsen's fault O.J. did it?
And let's just not forget the Patriots cut Hernandez the minute he was arrested. The Raven held onto and backed Ray Lewis after he was arrested with the exact same charges (except it was two counts of murder instead of one).

I'd bet dollars to donuts that Buffalo didn't have him on the board.

Kind of sad that instead of getting paid millions of dollars to play a game he loves, traveling the country in the team plane staying at first class hotels, being fed wonderful meals plus being loved by football fans...Mr. Hernandez sits in a jail cell eating jail food...all because someone mean mugged him in a nightclub ....allegedly
