I really think jurors do take their oaths very seriously and upholds all of the Judge's instructions.

When I was on a DP case in my area it was high profile. We all knew it was on the nightly news everyday and the newspapers but none of us ever looked at anything that would prejudice our views about the case. We all know we were only to consider the evidence that came from the witness stand. My family knew not to ask me any questions about the case so I never had that problem either. At the time that was my fourth time being a juror so my family had become accustom to the rules by then.

I really do think when jurors are sworn in the way they look at things changes and they want to honor what they promised they would do or not do.

IMO

I hear ya. However, I tend to be a cynic at worst and sceptic at best.

Heard some legal talking heads on CNN this morning that Sultan's move yesterday admitting he was there but was just a bystander could be a very smart move and lead to a not guilty or much lesser verdict. Lots of speculation as to why he chose closing arguments to admit he was there. Any legal minds here have an opinion on this?

A Hail Mary Pass?

A Hail Mary Pass?

i assume that is the case...Sultan is a smart guy so I am worried. I think I could tolerate less than first degree if it were not for all I know ah and his past and his whole attitude in life and in the courtroom. He is an extremely unlikeable guy.

i don't understand his reasoning quite frankly.....it brings him so much closer to joint venture and gives the jury the opportunity to GIVE him at least 2nd degree.....

he would not be eligible for parole for at least 15 with 2nd and it's up to life......

smh.........it truly was a hail mary imo........

eta........of course i get it MIGHT hang up one person....what do i know....i'm just a bee :D

I have been trying hard to understand how admitting he was there can be helpful to the DT case.

How can he say he 'was there' but come up with a scenario where he as not involved? WHERE were they all going at 3 am? AH was driving the car that picked the victim up and drove him to the industrial park. Give me an INNOCENT reason for that trip. :waitasec:

And let's just say there was an innocent reason that AH was driving Lloyd to the deserted industrial park at that hour, and suddenly one of the other two thugs shot and killed Lloyd. Then what? AH drives them back to his home where his family was? And he walks calmly back inside, with his back to the killers? And then hands Ortiz his baby girl to hold? That does not look at all AH was afraid of them or angry that they killed Lloyd. JMO
