He charges $500/hr, said he was only paid for 2hrs, but spent 150 hrs, but didn't hear this was a high profile case... really?? I'm not buying it, don't think the jury did either.

It does seem that the it's all going to come down to Closings!

Def. Rested and CW no rebuttal. Judge Locke explaining the sequence for this. Random pick of those jurors who will become alternates and will advise before deliberations.

Usual admonitions and released for the day!

Hummm.. I always thought that Pros. closings were bifurcated...so split into go first, then Def. then Position ( CW)????? Did I miss something different in Mass.?

Yeah, I thought it was strange too, but I heard him say it. Can't remember what they did in the last trial.

Since the CW has the burden, they may have been asked if they want to go before & after the defense or all after the defense.

Did they mention how long each side got in time? As I said.. Usually pros. uses about half then Def. gets their whole time then second half for Pros. which sometimes is done by another ADA .. I guess Mass. is different... but would want Pros. to have the last word that the jury hears IF had no other choice.

I can't recall the last State Court case from Mass. The last one I recall was a Federal case ( Boston Bomber Case), but it wasn't live streamed so cannot recall how that went????

Found this, maybe it will help. Same thing in the OL trial. Defense went first then the CW in closing arguments. 90 mins each.

Then saw this...

#AaronHernandez - Closing arguments tomorrow - Defense then prosecution. In Mass, there is no rebuttal closing.

Thank you Buf, I guess it's up to the prosecutors and do recall over the many years of following trials, the judge asks Pros. how they want to proceed. Sometimes, when the def. spends to much time pontificating about LE handling, bungling of Investigative practices, then of course saying there's NO eyewitnesses.. and video of it happening to put AH there. Then of course there's AH shooting his buddy (AKA Drug Supplier) AB because he was so fearful that he either did or would TALK! Lets face it... AH after over a year of building paranoia... He became so nervous, and took advantage of his celebrity and huge following of his budding "Mob style followers" who lived on the dark side to do his bidding.

When AB survived, it's almost understandable, that he would use what most on that side do. Revenge on his own terms... and once realized after OL's murder.. he had to cooperate with LE. It was the only real way to get revenge, now that AH is in jail for Life. He also probably realized he had no other choice. The immunity he got was so worth it for him, as he knew he would also be charged as an accomplice if he had of talked without it!

I'm going to listen to the Opening Statements again tonight---curious to see what each side promised.

I think juries really take those opening promises to heart...

I didn't think the defense case was that explosive, overall. They hit back hard at the 'spilled drink' ---but nothing else really...?

Great idea katy! I think I'll do the same. Agree about defense case... very lackluster.

I honestly thought the prosecution did more with the defense witnesses than the defense did. Lee was TERRIFIC this afternoon, especially when he got him to answer questions with, "You'd have to ask the defense." :blushing:

Great idea about going back to watch opening statements! Will you please post your thoughts?

He didn't do himself any favors by stating that he always looks at the sports page first when he reads the paper and never saw anything in there about the case. He must be a huge sports fan to go to that section of the paper first. Any sports fan would know about this case no matter where they lived. He knew IMO
