When is the next hearing?

I'd prefer him to continue down the road he's been going but I'm worried that he's going to say things got crazy and he killed her accidentally. Didn't know what to do from there and frantically tried to clean up the mistake. Changes everything
RBBM
How? He apparently dismembered her. I don't see that as "trying to clean up a mistake" & IMO a jury won't either. Let him talk. Anything he says that a reasonable person would infer to be the opposite of the evidence will substantiate his guilt. The prosecutor should focus on very young children losing their mother to bloody violence at the hands of their father. What he took away cannot be replaced & that is critical.

JMHO

Of course, it would definitely change the situation. But do you believe someone who did it in a burst of anger would really search what he did on the 1st of January, on the day the victim’s disappearance: “
  • How long for someone to be missing to inherit.”?. Normally a person who freaks out would be searching for ways to cover his tracks and not on the time they need to wait in order to revive the $. This was clearly premeditation to me.

Maybe he thought they wouldn't search his son's iPad, only his. But LE DID search his son's iPad, thankfully.

There are incredibly crude ways to dispose of a body whether it be dismemberment, burning, burying, etc...the list on WS goes on. However, the crime and punishment do change regardless of how heinous the acts. I think his guilt is pretty obvious but an argument that got out of hand that led to murder/dismemberment/disposal is different than premeditated murder and the penalties associated.

MAR 30, 2023
A Norfolk County grand jury indicted Walshe for first-degree murder, obstruction of justice, and other charges, the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office said, according to reports.

He could face life in prison if convicted.

He pleaded not guilty in Quincy District Court when he was charged with murder during a January arraignment, but the indictment now moves the case to Norfolk Superior Court where he will be arraigned in the coming weeks, the district attorney’s office said according to the Boston Herald.

Thank you, sds71.

Noting from the second link:

Attorney Michael W. Morrissey announced on Thursday that three indictments against Walshe, 48, of Cohasset, were issued including the murder of his wife, for misleading a police investigation/obstruction of justice, and for the improper conveyance of a human body.

“Brian Walshe entered a plea of not guilty to the charge of murder at his Quincy District Court arraignment in January,” District Attorney Morrissey said. “This indictment moves the case to the Norfolk Superior Court, where it will be arraigned anew in the coming weeks. That date has not yet been set.”

I think all that's changed here is the case gets bumped from district to superior court. I believe the grand jury indicted the husband for the same as initially charged. MOO

What a tragedy for her babies. :(

Who has custody of the children?

Who has custody of the children?
They're in foster care.
  • The children are in foster care, "they are friendly faces," the children are together, and relatives are involved.
  • Hans (the family dog) is also in foster care with a retired police officer.
  • Video is from 2 months ago.

Since he's bumping up to Superior Court, I don't think it's likely they will bother with status in District Court. We should next be hearing about his arraignment date in his new Court (Norfolk) with a new Judge. MOO

ETA add court link

"“This is only a step in a long process, during which Brian Walshe enjoys the constitutional presumption of innocence and all of the protections afforded him under the Constitution,” Morrissey said. “We are thankful to the detectives who have put so many hours into assembling the evidence in this matter and the witnesses who have assisted us in coming to this step.”"

I hope from hereon out the smirks/smiles that always seem to be lurking will be wiped off BW's face. It's always been just awful to me that he looks upbeat or enjoys the attention after what he has done to Ana! allegedly! He's a monster, leaving their young children orphaned. MOO

Nothing populates on the (Norfolk) court site when searching BW but the DA stated the arraignment in the coming weeks, and no date yet:

“This indictment moves the case to the Norfolk Superior Court, where it will be arraigned anew in the coming weeks. That date has not yet been set.”
