I don’t get how “sudden unexplained death” can proven without a body and an autopsy.Sudden unexplained death is the defense.
and that's basically it.
They are going to throw it out as a form of reasonable doubt. Since there is no body that is their way to say BW didn't kill her and that she died of natural causes. They can't prove it but they can insert it into their defense and the minds of the jury.I don’t get how “sudden unexplained death” can proven without a body and an autopsy.

I wish they would have been able to find that wet vac.Article from November 24, 2025 contains this photo

Ana Walshe's body was never found. How will that affect husband's murder trial?
“It’s entirely circumstantial but the circumstantial evidence is strong,” a defense lawyer said of the case against Brian Walshe.www.masslive.com
I'm sorry if this question has been answered, but didn't their house burn down shortly after she went missing? Did they ever determine what caused that? I know this was a long time ago, I'm just wondering if he did it. I feel like that could be explored, but might be unviable due to lack of evidence.
Thank you so much for the answer. The fire was at a house Ana had previously owned. The fire happened after Ana had sold it. It was deemed accidental.

I also had another question for this forum. Does anyone have the timestamp for when they make the "sudden unexplained death" argument in the trial video? Thank you.
Thank you all for being so accommodating. Not exactly what you asked for, but here’s the Defense opening statement

And.....she was scared of him.Brian wouldn't be the first murderer to swing between extremes. Either I win her back or I kill her.
IMO Ana didn't want to be won back.
