Oh no. Sorry she needs surgery. I was hoping they could just fish it out of her ear.

I was thinking the same thing about Bella. I'm glad for the second autopsy but at the same, her little body must be a mess- in and out of freezers and on and on

But her sweet soul is in Heaven

I never heard that RB spent the night sobbing at the water front with JA . IMO she sobs because she is in jail.

Her Atty annoys me. She's a sensationalist. However, I do suppose Rochelle probably is experiencing guilt and remorse now that she's sobered up. Hopefully her sobs are in the manner of "my baby is dead and I played a major role in it" rather than sobs of "poor pitiful me."

Yes, a shame he couldn't have been disgusted by RB 2 1/2 years ago to make sure Bella didn't have to live with the disgusting one. Wondering if word that he is disgusted with RB gets back to RB if she will change her mind about letting him handle Bella's funeral??

She so disgusts him that he spent the night with her at the water for "family time" knowing that his daughter "he loved so much" was dead.

McCarthy’s physical appearance had changed markedly from their last court appearance on Sept. 21, when he pleaded not guilty to a murder charge and was ordered held without bail. His disheveled hair, which had fallen well past his collar, was neatly groomed. He also appeared to be more aware of his surroundings.

Bassil said the decision to seek a second autopsy was made by her, not Bond.

“It’s not something my client wanted. It’s heartbreaking for her,’’ Bassil said after the hearing. “But there are times as a lawyer you have to ask clients do things they don’t really want to do. And I need to protect her.’’

Bassil said that she is hoping the defense autopsy findings corroborate statements Bond allegedly gave to police following her arrest.

Shapiro said he was pushing for the second examination because the murder charge against his client is based on Bond’s account of what happened inside the Dorchester apartment this year.

“The only evidence comes from someone who is completely not credible,’’ Shapiro said.

On Thursday evening, a man bearing a striking resemblance to Michael McCarthy sat at the desk inside, wearing a ragged shirt and avoiding eye contact.
He eventually got up from his chair and unlocked the door. When the visitor identified himself as a reporter, the man leaned back and waved his hand.

“Not interested,” he said, and he shut the door.

IMO This is where RB's story falls apart....

MM was staying at his fathers plumbing shop. According to this, he was there on Thursday evening 9/17. LE found him at the hospital on 9/18 for minor surgery.

RB claimed she got away when MM went to the hospital, but on 9/16 RB & JA spent the night at the water & she told JA Bella was dead. 9/16 is also when MS's sister LS contacted LE. On 9/17 MS talked to LE & RB's apt was being searched.

Could MM have told his father about Bella's death after MS had started questioning him and given him advice to lawyer up? Who knows what story he could have told him. MM had listed his fathers shop address as where he lived during a previous shoplifting incident, so LE probably went there to find MM & the father probably told him he was at the hospital.

His father was in court today along with his brother.

That is how I took it too. I took it as someone with an obvious physical resemblance to MM (his dad) declined to speak to reporter but reporter did not or could not name him since he could not be sure who he was speaking to when the comment was made.

Rachelle and MS were supposed to have dropped off McCarthy at the hospital on the 16th, just before she confessed to MS?

The article is very unclear with its wording "a man bearing a striking resemblance to Michael McCarthy" could refer to McCarthy, his father, or maybe a brother, but the wording is only implying a possible connection rather than confirming any identity.

However, I think it probably is meant to imply that the reporter suspected that the person in the office was MM's father...it was just a really awful attempt to say that implicitly rather than explicitly.

Why would a reporter have gone to MM's father's store on Thursday the 17th? That was before RB was taken into questioning and I thought it was also before MM was questioned?

Do reporters have access to police records of people they are looking for?

The date of the article is 9/25, which was a Friday. The Thursday referred to in the article doesn't have a date attached, so it could be either 9/24 or 9/17. I'm going with 9/24, post-arrest - why else would a reporter be there? Not the best written article, for sure.
