I just watched PART 1.

So RB uses the phrases "Hon" and "I love you"all over text messages to the person that MURDERED her baby??? Are.you.kidding.me.

I am praying so hard that the jury (like all of us) sees that the MURDERER of Bella is the one ON THE STAND.

I seriously do not know if I can watch any more of her LIES.

Just going back to the dog, MM seemed attached. Just the thought of him bringing his dog when he went to the pharmacy where he first met RB and then also brought him to her house a year later. If I recall he also took the subway. Seems like he ensured his pup was safe. Imo.

I've been following this terrible crime sporadically all year, via the Boston Globe where I caught a vid clip of her testifying. I reeled backwards, the horror , and then it struck me that of course Websleuths would be on the job, :doh: , so I have been catching up.

A huge thanks to the relay runners of the court transcript, and to all you super contributors, it gives such a unique ambience and fine detailed picture of just what is going on. Like most , I was gobstuck by the deal she got, I can't get over it.

And she is hard to watch. The damage that drugs have done to her brain makes her useless and repulsive , not much of what she says is worth a crumpet, and I suspect McCarthy will be the same, Bella hardly registered as a distinct human being, they hardly see themselves as human, or each other.

9.45am here at the moment! Doing research on women and crime for a while before the trial starts.

I really would like to know what can happen to RB's plea deal - can it be revoked? Is it likely? My knowledge of the US system is poor, considering I am a criminology student!

See paragraph 4 of the plea agreement: https://www.scribd.com/mobile/document/338993406/Rachelle-Bond-Plea-Deal. It can be declared null and void if the DA learns that her testimony was incomplete or untruthful, in which case he can recommend the judge impose a sentence up to the full amount possible for the crimes to which she pleaded guilty; she could also be prosecuted for perjury under those circumstances.

Also, the sentencing judge could still impose a longer sentence even if the agreement remains valid, because the prosecutor doesn't technically have the power to bind the judge to a particular sentence; but that would be very unusual and IMO unlikely since a judge would probably defer to a prosecutor's discretion.
