I seriously want to know why a shelter would drive her out and back to a place she did not feel safe at?
What!!
She got kicked out for seeking medical treatment ? I hope they investigate this shelter and maybe sue them if she don't show up.
can you imagine ?
Kylee's sisters know what she told them, which may or may not be the reason she left there. I wouldn't be quick to judge the shelter without knowing their version of why she left. According to the website, it is run by volunteers. Residents are transported to and from jobs and appointments.
https://bethesdahousema.org

That said, I looked at the website and have some ideas why the placement may not have worked out. It has a religious basis. Incoming residents are advised not to bring any clothing that it is too revealing, low cut, or short with them. It's not clear how big a role that plays in the daily life of residents or the rules they must follow. It does not explain meeting requirements, attendance rules, etc.

The shelter is an outreach program of the North River Community Church in Pembroke, according to the church's website. That information does not appear on the shelter's website. The church is open about this program and others; their goal is outreach to sinners, to bring the sinner's into God's fold. www.northriverchurch.org

Some religious-based charities have stricter requirements for those who are receiving aid; others simply see it as good works and have few formal requirements for beneficiaries. The lack of information about a link between the church and the shelter on the shelter's page is because the shelter is downplaying a religious component to make residency more appealling to those who are not religious or whether the church is over-emphasizing its actual role in the program on its page. All MOO. I don't know any more than is on each website. One emphasizes bringing the wayward into the fold; one barely mentions it.

I'm not criticizing the shelter or the church members in any way. They are helping young women in extremely difficult circumstances find stability, housing, employment and the support they need. All I am saying is that a religious-oriented program may not suit everyone. Even those who think in advance it will be OK can find themselves in violation of rules or decide the rules are not for them.

Let's not blame the shelter or Kylee for trying it and leaving without more information.

I’ve only seen the Google reviews. Not sure how to link it but if you Google the shelter, the reviews should be there.

I doubt volunteer ride-givers would be privy to specifics on a resident's background, unless the resident discussed it. Maybe she did. We don't know. Kylee did have family she was close to. She lived with a maternal aunt and uncle for 5 years. One of her half-sisters said in the TV interview that Kylee had stayed with her before going to Bethesda House. From the sisters' statements, they weren't aware of where she was intending to go next.

The only time I'm aware of Kylee saying she didn't feel safe was when she was when she was at the house on County St in Rehoboth. That was after she'd been given a ride there from Pembroke and just prior to her last contact with her sisters or friends. Is there a report that she said she felt unsafe there previously? If she said she felt that unsafe going there, surely the volunteer driver would've waited for her to collect her belongings and dropped her off at a relative's or a friend's place. The shelter doesn't use paid staff. The drivers are people who volunteer because they are concerned about the welfare of young women in these circumstances.

The house at 107 County St, the address in the news coverage, is owned by the ex-boyfriend's brother. That may be a factor in why she wasn't living with him or didn't stay the night. It's likely investigators know who lives there and if anyone else was visiting when Kylee was last known to be there. Let's hope they're cooperating and investigators are making progress on finding Kylee!

It was up last night. Not very active, but it had a few recent posts. Interesting that it's been taken down since.

I would guess that the shelter found the online attention as a distraction to their mission. imo

He didn't go to her prom. Some WSers suggested schools rules may require attendees by under a certain age. He is 22.
Nothing looks right, not any of this does

A girl I mentored was in such a Massachusetts shelter for teens who are pregnant and/or new mothers. Most of the girls who are in these shelters have a foster care background. These shelters have very strict rules for the safety of the individual/and the safety of the group, as in most cases, these shelters are a shared house where the girls are each assigned a bedroom (that they share with their babies/toddlers), but share bathrooms, the kitchen & other common areas with all the other girls. There is a waiting list to get into most of these shelters, and they are VERY serious about the rules, as there are babies/young children in these homes. These shelters not only provide these girls a roof over their heads, but structure, education, counseling, mentorship, and resources---they teach these girls how to be good moms, in some cases how to cook, clean, maintain their home, care for their children, and manage responsibilities. Girls have a curfew and and sometimes need to get permission to see certain people. (In the case of the girl I mentored, she had a DV situation with her baby's father that resulted in a restraining order---she was not allowed to see or communicate with him. She was also a victim of repeated neglect & abuse by several family members, and she was only permitted to have limited supervised off-site visitation, if at all, with those people. I had to submit to and pass a Massachusetts CORI/background check in order to be permitted to take her from the home & spend time with her, and even then, she had to put in an advanced request and I had to abide by their rules & curfews). They set these girls & their babies up with resources and donations to help them when they are ready to move out on their own. Again, because there are babies/toddlers in these homes, they only accept girls who are serious about the mission the shelter provides---they do not accept girls whose past or present behavior may endanger the other girls and/or children who reside there. They are all told the rules and the consequences of breaking them when they apply.

It does not sound like Kylee got kicked out for seeking medical treatment, rather it sounds like she got kicked out for telling them she was leaving the shelter to seek medical treatment, and then staying out all night and not returning until the following day without communicating anything to the shelter. It is more likely than not that this was not her first rules offense. Depending on the egregiousness of the rules violation, they don't usually get kicked out after only one offense. Unfortunately there are more girls in need than shelters available, and it's a blessing for a girl in need to get a spot in one.

There was a similar home in my old town. One rule they also had was that if she did not have a high school diploma, regardless of her age, she had to be pursuing one, whether at the local school, or via GED.

They could have got her an uber to take her where she wanted to go and relieved themself of actually driving her to the unsafe place.

Her disappearance comes two months after she graduated from Attleboro High School.

There is a photo at the link of her in cap and gown.

A candlelight vigil will take place on Saturday August 23rd. Family members are looking to get a pastor, and they are trying to get it held in the gazebo located at 7 Pond St, Rehoboth, MA / 401 Winthrop Street in Rehoboth. There will be candles and both family and friends will be able to speak about Kylee.

Were those seen or just a phrase?
From the article linked above:

"On Tuesday, a 12 News crew spotted at least seven police cruisers parked outside a home there. Officers with large evidence bags and K-9s were seen investigating in the densely wooded area. An excavator was also brought in, but it did not appear to have been used."

I also read the boyfriend has been arrested with abuse of a pregnant woman and intimidation of a witness. There has been an unconfirmed report that he has confessed to her murder.

According to WPRI12, he has been charged with: aggravated assault and battery on a pregnant woman, domestic assault and battery, and intimidation of a witness. He is being held without bail and is slated to face a judge on Wednesday.
