Brimfield Police Department
Multiple agencies are on scene at the Woods at Long Pond for a search and rescue. There are no risks to the public. We are currently searching for an adult male. At this time we ask that the public and media avoid the area. Any media concerns can be directed to the Brimfield Police at 413-245-3442.

Once again numerous agencies are working to locate the missing party on day two of our search. Our focus has turned to Long Pond. We will have more information for you all once it becomes available. We again ask that you avoid the area. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

The search for today has concluded and will start again tomorrow morning with a focus on the area of Long Pond.
The missing person is Eric Malerbi, age 54. He was reported missing Friday evening. Eric is approximately 5’5 and about 140 pounds. It’s believed that he was last wearing a dark fleece jacket and blue jeans. He frequents places in both Brimfield and Sturbridge. Anyone with information is asked to call the Brimfield Police Department at 413-245-7222.
We have been assisted by numerous agencies each providing valuable man power and expertise. Special thanks to the Brimfield Ma. Fire Department, the Oxford Police Department, Sturbridge Fire Department, the Tolland County Dive Team, Massachusetts State Police dive team, the Warren Fire Department, the North Brookfield Fire Department, and the Monson Fire Department and many others.
