Fishermen pull decomposed body out of the water off Massachusetts coast

The unnamed fishing vessel was working about 40 miles off the coast of Boston Friday morning when the crew discovered the body after reeling in the boat’s fishing nets.

Reminds me of the podcast Sea of Lies, which starts with a body in a fishing net in the English Channel. Definitely worth listening to.

For those who don’t want to view the TMZ photo:

- The knees are strapped together.
- The arms are strapped down by the side.
- The head is blurred.
- The pants look like men’s suiting trousers but I can’t discern whether the top is a suit jacket.

It's actually good that the body was wrapped. Forensics will have an easier time with the identification and investigation.

An autopsy found that the woman's body had been embalmed, apparently in line with how someone would be buried at sea. The investigation into the body has been closed

Im guessing she was wrapped in a shroud. They often use those when doing ocean burials
