Does that mean we are free to sleuth him?

On Tuesday, investigators focused on a Spring Street home in Lynn, which the state Sex Offender Registry Board lists as an address of 29-year-old Jason James Fleury, a Level 3 sex offender. Investigators towed a van from the house to the Swampscott Police Station. This is the second van they have taken; officers took another van of his over the weekend.

Has anybody seen anything about the POI's location? Is he hiding? The family said they talked to him on Friday and that the police interviewed him three times. So he must have been around town those first few days. Did he disappear after the police questioned him? could he already be in custody? Or on his way to Virginia?

One of the things to consider for today's search is access points to the park-are there areas where you can pull off the road and avoid the parking lots? Are there sections of trails that someone could drive in a non 4 wheel drive vehicle to get further back into the woods? Are there abandoned buildings, caves that are off trail but close by...kwim? What kind of security/surveillance is there and how is the park secured at night? Could a van be parked there for a day or two unnoticed?

Thanks FindHG. That was a great post. (Apparently I missed reading a page when I started catching up on the thread this morning.) Unfortunately, it looks like Fox news has updated the article and took out some of the details about JF and his wearabouts. So it sounds like the family he left with, includes the aunt and uncle he was living with. I hope LE know where he is.

Just getting caught up here... Why have LE not named him as a POI yet? This has me very confused since he's been talked to multiple times, both of his cars have been towed and he and his family (Aunt/Uncle) who live on Spring Rd. have left the area as of Monday night to avoid the media?

It's great to see the search is finally in high gear!!!! I pray today is the day they bring Jaimee home.

The Salem Police Chief said in a press conference on Thursday that the search for Mendez is "well choreographed," with K9 units going in first, then ATVs, then an organized ground search. The chief said that over 100 officers were present for the search, which could go until dark.

I am confused on that one and asked a mod. It sounded like yes, but previously in all other threads I have been a part of, the person has to be named a POI or suspect before they can be sleuthed. Still waiting to hear back.

I am trying to get a sense from the maps of the Woods where the access points are and if there is required check in. If so, then there may be surveillance cameras and a record from the last almost week.

I haven't been following this thread closely, but this is a question I can provide some information about.

I've hiked in Lynn Woods once a couple of years ago, up to the Stone Tower (magnificent view). I think we parked near the Rose Garden and I don't recall any kind of check in or anything like that. There are some stone walls marking boundaries but it's not fenced or anything like that. There are houses all around so some private citizens might have surveillance cameras, but I doubt there are many elsewhere.

I recall the area being very swampy. It's laced by trails and very busy during nice weather, but there's also quite a bit of swampy, rocky, or rugged areas that are hard to get to. Lots of remnants of older houses, so there are cellar pits and that kind of thing, but exploring those is one of the attractions of the area (ghost hunters too) so if he left her there, they'll find her rather soon.

Thanks for asking hockeymom as I was under the same impression that the person needs to be named a POI to be open to sleuthing. That being said he sure fits the definition since he's been interviewed more than once and his vans have been impounded by LE.

I'm starting to get the feel that there is a lot more to all of this. I know it was posted up thread (sorry forgot who) that he was not being named a POI as LE was looking at others as well and were not ready to name him. IIRC no one with LE has mentioned his name. Only the media has going off of interviews with the family.

But IMHO if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck...it's a duck!

Maybe both women OD, but since Stephanie was still alive he dropped her off outside of the hospital. Who knows, maybe he drugged them himself so he could take advantage of them. But once Mendez died, he dropped Stephanie off then disposed of Mendez. However, if she were unconscious, that wouldn't explain the scratch marks. So many questions.....

This ^^^ is starting to make more sense to me. On the Find Jaimee Mendez FB page Stephanie's sister has posted a little about Stephanie. Paraphrasing but they are waiting to talk to the Dr.'s at the hospital as it's not even clear how long she has been there and Stephanie doesn't remember how she got to the hospital from Salem????

Thanks Hockeymom and SDHELPS or weighing in on if we are allowed to sleuth him. Also the fact that he is an RSO adds to the question, since we are allowed to post about RSO's in the area.

I am the one that posted the link to a video that mentioned that LE are also questioning some other people. If you search back through my posts in the last 24 hours you should find it. I have to run out now, so I don't have time to look.

Really want to clear up that he is not her boyfriend. Also we do not know if Stephanie was with them last week. She has been missing for two weeks and may have been in the hospital the whole time.

Given some of the rumors going down around here, I'm going to say there's a possibility that the guy is...not innocent, but possibly not responsible for her disappearance or death. (Probably guilty of lots of other things though.)

How can I put this? There might be a business relationship involved, and something to do with competitors and clients. Not drugs, or not primarily drugs anyway.

P.s. I'm not suggesting that she worked for this guy. Caught on the crossfire, more like.
