This case caught my attention because he has no photo available. I’ll start looking through year books.

I am attaching a photo of our missing, although I think it is of limited use as it seems to be of him aged about 3 or 4! It comes from an Ancestry family tree and is undoubtedly the right person as the birthdate matches that on a 'find a grave' entry which gives the missing date (but no details of how he went missing). The location (Salem) also matches known detail. One sister only died (in Salem) in 2004.

it's a strange case a rather ominous photo to say the least it's a little boy almost 100 years missing... let's hope he didn't suffer so much being away from home... little baby.
rest in peace

I found some information. Siblings: Peter J. Meunier b. 1897 Canada d. 1988 Massachusetts. Note, he has a photo on ancestry at 4 years old which is 1901. This is a public photo under his name. He also has a photo as an older man 50's or 60's with his niece. Again public photo. In 1917/1918 he was registered for the draft. His physical description is as following Build-slender, Height-medium, Hair- Dark Brown, Eyes-Blue. Marianne Meunier born on July 19th, 1902 and died premature birth, Joseph, the missing man and then a sister Marie Celina b. 1910 died 2004.
Interesting information according to Salem Massachusetts birth records he was born Alfred Joseph Meunier born on 7-July-1904. Joseph Alfred Meunier same birth date. Also some interesting city directory information:
1922-Alfred/Claudia lab h28 charter, Celina student same address, Peter counter worker same address
1924-Alfred/Claudia lab h. 17 Williams, Celina student same address, Peter counter worker same address
1926-Alfred/Claudia lab h. 17 Williams, Celina student same address Peter rem to Canada?
Joseph is in the 1920 census, but then nothing. If he disappeared in 1924 he would be at least in the 1922 city directory as he is older than his sister. Also, all members of the family spoke French. A possibility is that he went to Canada, no proof, but his parents probably had relatives there, since Peter was born there and went there in 1926. (The last 3 paragraphs is based on facts and my opinion). Peter in the 1901 photo has the same kind of background. Any artist who could draw a picture of what Peter looked like in 1917. Sorry this is long.
