Jury deliberations continue for 2nd full day in Karen Read murder trial
Jurors were later sent home at the end of the day Monday, set to return to the courthouse to deliberate for a second full day Tuesday morning.

Jessica M. Leslie, 34, was charged on Friday, July 11, 2025 with one count of criminal contempt. The defendant has agreed to plead guilty and will make an initial appearance in federal court in Boston at a later date. A plea hearing has not yet been scheduled by the Court.

Prosecutors have not specifically named the cases that Leslie is accused of leaking information about. However, reports from WCVB and The Boston Globe from anonymous sources claim Leslie served on a federal grand jury investigating the state’s handling of the Karen Read case.
Leslie’s sentencing date was scheduled for Sept. 26 at 3 p.m., and Talwani requested a pre-sentencing report to be filed beforehand. Leslie’s attorney declined to comment on the case to MassLive.
