Found Deceased MA - Kim Kelly-Oberhauser, 56, Lowell, 18 Jan 2021

Good to see some press on this but still a lot of unanswered questions....like where was she spotted at 10:45pm and where was she going....

Concerns grow for Kim Kelly-Oberhauser, missing from Lowell

At the time of Kim’s disappearance, her personal life was in turmoil. Kim had recently separated from her husband and she had just moved into an apartment complex across the street from where her Range Rover was found.

The fact that Kim was not in that Range Rover when it was recovered haunts her friends to this day. They don’t think she drove the SUV into the Merrimack River.

“She would not be suicidal,” Lynn Smith said. “And if she was, she would not be in the car. That is not Kim.

“Kim did not drive that car; Kim did not put that car in the river. And it still boggles me as to how the car got there and who put it there,” Lynn Smith added.

So, where is Kim Kelly Oberhauser? No one knows. Her friends said, at the time she disappeared, Kim seemed happy. They are urging authorities to not give up.
Finally, some good reporting on Kim's disappearance.

no dive teams searching river when SUV was recovered. Does the Merrimack's current move so fast that police don't use search divers?

I am local. There were dive teams in the water the next few days after the SUV was recovered as well as helicopters

Good thought - I just looked up Susan Willand and they do look very much alike in the pictures !

@waldojabba Although it makes a good point ! Susan willand was on surveillance camera entering the merrimack down a boat ramp a few hundred yards up from where kims vehicle was located.

At 5'11" she's a tall lady, making her easy to spot. Volvo station wagon screams kids, but I assume she's alone?

Do we have a thread for her? It also says she could be in North Conway, NH which is a town in very remote north eastern NH near the Maine border. Just north of the White Mountains. That’s a far drive from Lowell

This news clip says she was going to see her boyfriend, but nobody knows if she made it to Ossipee.
Her "friend" is interviewed, and says she was going to pick up her dog and then she told "the guy" she was going to google paths and woods.
I wonder how long she knew this "boyfriend" if her friend didn't know his name?
"Nobody knows if she made it to Ossipee?" Did she pick up her dog? I would think that would answer that part.

Yes there is a separate thread.

Perhaps she has a Volvo Wagon because she has a large dog?

North Conway is on the southern edge of the Presidential Range in the White Mountains. It's a popular tourist town all year round, with outlet shopping as well as several ski areas nearby. Very popular place to set off for hiking trips in the mountains. Lots of motels and restaurants. It's not the big city but I wouldn't call it very remote.

Ossipee, where she was said to be heading, is about two hours from Lowell. North Conway is another thirty or forty minutes north of that. Google Maps

This is my part of the world. Mr. Carbuff and I, and friends, frequently hike in this region. It is a bit of a drive, but it's so beautiful it's worth it.

Volvo wagons are fairly popular with hikers, campers, fisherfolk, and dog people. Lots of room for wet animals, smelly camping gear, dirty boots, and all the rest, plus they have good traction for getting around in bad weather on back roads. I wanted one but we decided on a smaller Subaru instead.

It's hard to beat that area, I agree. I've spent many Memorial Day weekends floating down the Saco river. Launch in North Conway, bungee cord 3 or 4 canoes side by side and float down the river with bunch of friends. Camp on the river bank, and take the canoes out in Fryeburg Maine 3 days later. I have a friend that has a house on Lake Ossipee. Quiet nights listening to the Loons. Life is good.

I am new to this forum, but I was worried about the disappearance of Kim, and now I am worried about the number of women who are disappearing and in all cases there is always evidence near a river or lake, they are all thin, tall women , white, and from the same area. what a coincidence.

Welcome Clarranaga. I think it is only a coincidence but hopefully we'll get some definitive information shortly to find out what has happened. The presence of water seems to make these cases exponentially more difficult.
