Another skull was found weeks later in New Bedford, on Jan. 22, 2021.

New Bedford police were called to the southwest shoreline of Fish Island, where a man found a skull resting on the ocean floor.

The medical examiner confirmed it was in fact a human skull, but couldn’t determine the race, sex, age, or time of death.

The skull is now in the hands of Bode Laboratory, where researchers are conducting further testing to try and recover DNA.
