Hmmm.... so he might be mentally unstable..

You know, looking at his photos here- he really does not look like he is all there- what was that story again about lack of oxygen when he was 7? I am thinking there might be some truth to that.

1. Really happy for OA and her family
2. Praying that she is able to manage the trauma. This is a life changing event.
3. Kudos to the Boston Police
4. We, as a state and nation, really need more mental health resources.

Yeah, there seems to be something really not right with him. I guess we will have to wait and see.

Victor Pena. Known to police. Homeless at times.

Previous record of stalking at transit stations.

Violation of restraining orders.

Assault charges.

Minor criminal past in other states.
He's well known. And he's been reported in the past couple of years.

His "issues" seem to come and go. He's quite clear when he's assaulting women, and then becomes muddled when he's caught. He was quite clear when he dragged her on the T, off the T and to his apartment, he wasn't having "issues" and crying like a child then. I think it's all an act, imo.

This aritcle describes Peña’s scheme at the casino. Not saying it was genius or anything, but at least in this case he demonstrated a degree of cunning and plotting that shows he’s not just some brain-damaged guy who has no idea what he’s doing.
This article is interesting. IMO it shows how he has learned to use “mental disabilities” to his advantage. I’m not sure how much is an act at this point, but pretty sure a lot of it is. It seems he’s played this card many times before and it’s worked. MOO

All the cards were altered in the same manner," according to the affidavit written by R.I. State Police Detective Andrew Emerson. "They were cut short and with a small hole punched in the corner, with a small black string tied around it, and the cardholder name and account number were scratched off the face of the cards."

The cards were cut short so they couldn’t be seen when they were put in the VLT, according to the affidavit.

"With the altered card inserted into the machine, any unsuspecting patron playing that machine would be generating rewards points that would be transferred onto the hidden rewards card," Emerson wrote. "These rewards points are transferred into cash or cash equivalent for goods, services, or additional gameplay within the Twin River Casino."

**********

One thing slot players love is their comps. Lose $500 and get a free buffet.

If there is a hidden card in the machine, the unsuspecting player couldn’t put theirs in, and they would usually move on or alert an attedant.

Did he jump in his car to drive there...wait he didn’t have a car. He was the dupe for casino cheats.

Perfect fit.

ETA- in my experience: Victor worked for a casino cheat group that needed a warm body to place, watch, and retrieve the cards. He would be told sign up for multiple player cards in his name (many players get extra cards), the cheats would alter some for him; then he would go into action at Twin Rivers.

Once points built up on the cards, he would pick up the comps with an unaltered players card in his name and using real ID; where the comps picked up would be most likely cash or gift cards. Casino cheats have no interest in buffets or shows, just cash or cash equivalent.

Victor would get a percentage of the comps. And 100% of the legal issues.

My thought exactly and when the brother jumped in and said OA was there cleaning his apartment that kind of cinched it.
Looks like they know how to cover themselves.
I noticed during his court appearance he had an interpreter and even though I do not have FB the clips that were posted here were in Spanish, does he not speak English or only when it suits him?

He may speak English well enough in a general sense but with something as serious as this where everything must be understood it’s better to have an interpreter.

Absolutely true because then he can say he did not understand what was being said.

Because spanish is his first language and he's crafty enough to know the legal system and how to push a mistrial if he's found guilty, they're using an interpreter as a cya move, imo.

OA's Sister Thanks Everyone For Their Help
"[A]ll the words of love and encouragement are more than welcome!" she wrote. "If you have something you wish to tell Liv, let me know and I can add you to a FB group where I am gathering messages of love for her <3 <3"
"I do have one more huge favor to ask though. If possible if you could try to delete the FB posts relating to this (the posters, the pictures of the man etc) just so when Liv decides to return to FB she does not have to be consistently met with reminders. But all the words of love and encouragement are more than welcome!"
