Looking forward to some actual experts very soon. Independent ones at that!

Although the defense could probably rest it's case as soon as the prosecution does. Not only has the prosecution made it clear Read isn't guilty, they've actually managed to clear her! Well done, Lally.

Now we we need to know who actually killed him and left him to die such an awful death in cold.

Ok? The car hit his head and he flew away and the rest of his body was magically invincible from any damage? Explain the physics to me, please. The trooper who testified sure didn’t.

JMO
Well this reminds me of the multiple drunk drivers who walk away while their passengers are killed and ejected. Drunk people have relaxed muscles and aren’t necessarily tensed up.

Edited to add source:

The results of a study from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) show that not only does an appreciable blood-alcohol level seem to increase a trauma victim's chances of survival after being admitted to a hospital, but that the drunker a victim is, the more likely he or she is to survive.

"After an injury, if you are intoxicated there seems to be a pretty substantial protective effect," said Lee Friedman, the author of the study and an assistant professor of environmental and occupational health sciences at UIC, in a statment issued by the school. "The more alcohol you have in your system, the more the protective effect."

We know we won't get a directed verdict with this judge, but the murder charge should be dropped for sure.

The whole paid PR thing, YouTube, etc really sickens me. When I see the lengths people will go to for money & clicks - it’s very dangerous to our system of Justice. The bias, lies and manipulation & harassment - it’s just not right.
I didn’t like it when it was done to Casey Anthony’s either.
What's even more dangerous is a corrupt system of justice. A system that allows collection and preservation of evidence in a manner outside standard procedure. A system that allows, and encourages its witnesses to lie and belittle defendants who have yet to be convicted of any offense. That is what is not right, and we are ALL endangered because of it.
imo

Finally remembered my sign in to get back on WS! Hi all!
This Karen Read case is so infuriating, I remember reading an article about the case and thinking how interesting, she probably did it. But when my twxtter was going crazy about Jen McCabe’s testimony I started watching and have been completely hooked ever since.

If I was on the jury, there’s no way I would convict. I was waiting to see what these disastrous voicemails would lead to intent but they don’t scream motive imo. And even if you can’t buy the 3rd party angle the messiest disaster of these incompetent/corrupt cops that really makes me not want to go to Canton or Mass, ever lol Also, all those ‘murder period’ deleted call and butt dial (Higgins/McAlberts/McCabes) looks more suspicious than an Aruba trip!

Thank you!! It is super scary that a corrupt system would push for a trial with an investigation that was so subpar people should be fired. Chain of evidence, pictures on site, secured crime scene, and immediate witness questioning would be the very least that should have been done better!! Our system is supposed to prevent malicious prosecution and not reward it!

All you really need to know about the search is that it was held up as a kind of "smoking gun" against JM because it seemed to break the timeline. However, in my opinion, the prosecution has throughly addressed this to the point where I doubt the defense is even going to mention it in their closing.
But the curious thing is JM isn't even on trial.

"After an injury..." JO didn't sustain any injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle.

Well my point was responding to the OP opining how can he be hit by a vehicle and not have any major injuries to the rest of his body and I wrote what I wrote. I do t find any evidence at this point that he was beaten by Colin or any other person. I will weigh the vehicle injury against whatever the defense puts up. But at this point in trial I certainly consider the vehicle as a viable causation to his demise.

It is actually hilarious to me that Trooper Paul tried to pass off the right arm injuries as being caused by the taillight.

Just like he said JO's head injury came when he hit his head on the curb....but then flew 30 feet.

Nothing he said makes any sense. Sorry not sorry.

For the benefit of those confused about JOK's shattered skull, this is a screenshot of the ME's drawing from today's testimony, the green lines represent the breaks in JOK's skull.

This judge has helped the prosecutors
‘I don’t see the car move’
‘That makes sense’ when the coroner says she saw no (major?) signs of an altercation. It is very important to note that she did not exclude the possibility .
by -severely limiting what Dr. Russell and the FBI experts can say .. that is uncalled for.
Never mind her clear bias on granting objections.

Given the skull is “a pretty thick bone” that requires considerable force to break, she suggested O’Keefe suffered “a pretty considerable impact.” Scordi-Bello also opined that O’Keefe sustained his blunt force injuries before hypothermia set in.

“These are not injuries that are immediately lethal,” she noted. “This is not something that would cause death in seconds, and therefore Mr. O’Keefe may have been incapacitated by the injuries or knocked out, if you will, and was not able to get himself into a warmer environment and therefore hypothermia set in, given the environmental conditions and given the clothing on the body. Or the lack of clothing, I should say — no big jacket or anything like that.”

Lally asked if Scordi-Bello observed anything that would indicate a fight or altercation. She said she saw no major signs of “what I would call a significant altercation.” While O’Keefe had some contusions on his hands, she noted the bruising on one hand was possibly from attempts to insert an IV.

Further, O’Keefe had no bruising on his knuckles and no fractures in his hands, Scordi-Bello said. He did have two fractured ribs near his sternum, though she said that was a common location for fractures associated with CPR.

Scordi-Bello will continue her testimony Friday. As she dismissed jurors for the day, Judge Beverly Cannone said the trial is on track to wrap up sometime next week.

They think John was completely covered in snow, therefore invisible, but Karen knew exactly where he was when she, Jen and Kerry got to 34 Fairview.

They said to watch Kerry Robert's testimony, so I did, and posted a link and a time stamp to dash cam footage showing Kerry or Karen right by the fire hydrant, where John was, as the first police officer arrived. There's about 3" of snow on the ground, with drifts in some areas due to the wind, but nowhere near enough to cover a 6'2", 200 lb human.

But I got no further reply after posting the proof.
Kerry’s word is evidence. She states clearly he was covered in 3 inches on snow.

She has ZERO REASON to lie.
