Rentschler says in a collision involving a vehicle travelling 24 mph, you would expect to see fractures and other "significant injuries."

This is moving right along. This may be the last witness in this trial. Dr Andrew Rentschler of ARCCA - another expert hired by the feds and testifying here - is now on the stand. He is defense witness 6. He is director of biomechanics - but his testimony is limited.

The Judge has said In Mass only doctors can offer an opinion on cause of death. Rentschler looks at how the human body reacts to an application of force.

Rentschler says injuries to O'Keefe's head are not consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Says in that case there would like be spine and other injuries.

Dr. Andrew Rentschler tells AJ injuries to JO not consistent with being hit at 24 mph :

"24 mph,you start to see fractures, ligament and tendon damage... leg and knee... At that speed you are going to produce up 1k force on the body"

Rentschler says if the damage to JO's skull was caused by a vehicle, you would expect other fractures and injuries to his body... very damning and something that I think a lot of us thought anyways! jmo.

@SueNBCBoston

Are the same fleeces at play for an outstretched arm?
-yes
Arms weigh the same as heads
Would you expect more damage to the taillight at 24 mph?
-yes

Would striking a head on the pavement cause the injuries you saw?
-yes

The FBI sure knows great experts, wow! This guy, Rentschler, is very convincing.

Rentschler says the head injuries could have been caused by being knocked the ground. Says any snow on the ground would have soften the blow.

Rentscher says an arm hit by a car travelling at 24mph would have caused fractures, bruises and other more significant injuries.

If you presume that an arm was struck by a taillight of a vehicle traveling 24 mph, what would you expect to see?- fractions, deep contusions, lacerations. These injuries are abrasions, surface, and the go in the same direction.

Damning testimony here from Rentschler!

Could FBI be the "outside agency" that hired ARCA? Why is name of agency being kept a secret?
