Prosecutors are now asking that KR’s defense not be allowed to suggest others are responsible for JOK’s death.

I can only imagine how insufficient their evidence it to convict if they have resorted to blocking her lawyers from doing their jo

this must be what brennan is looking for with his request for the communications between TB and KR and also Between KR and Yannetti

Brennan told the court he did not intend to use the communications as evidence that Read was involved in witness intimidation but rather as pointing to her consciousness of guilt, given her frequent communication with Kearney.

In a separate motion filed on Thursday in Read’s case, Brennan has asked the court to give him text messages between Read and her attorney, David Yannetti, between Jan. 29, 2022 and Feb. 2, 2022 — the three days immediately following O’Keefe’s death. The motion argues that Read has waived the attorney-client privilege that would normally shield those conversations when she “voluntarily and intentionally disclosed the existence of these communications and her initial thoughts about her culpability for causing the death of John O’Keefe during various public interviews.”

Judge Beverly Cannone will hear arguments on the motion when the parties return to court on Tuesday, March 25. Jury selection for Read’s retrial is scheduled to begin on April 1 and last several weeks.

Thanks, I was able to find what you were talking about. It doesn’t sound like conspiracy to me. Sounds like a lawyer doing their job and managing public perception. Nothing burger.

“A blogger named “Turtle Boy” began shining a light on the case amid that development and said that he believed the entire case was a conspiracy. According to the prosecution, the defense was leaking “selective information” for Turtle Boy.

Karen explained that she was told by her lawyers that she can share anything she wanted with Turtle Boy, but it must go through a third party and she cannot share directly.

Karen, however, was concerned about sharing with a third party, and eventually began sharing it directly with him.”

This seems a pretty stupid thing to say?

Though obviously everyone knows Turtleboy is simply a defense cutout.

I must say I find this strategy of defendants having their own social media team to spread speculation about the case to be pretty troubling.

And yes i know the prosecution has also been guilty of bad media drops which would taint the jury.

Oh my god, yes. Such a stupid thing to say. IANAL, but if I was, there’s no way my client is talking this much. I agree that I am also not fond of defendants spreading info in this way, if only from a standpoint of ‘avoid the appearance of evil’.

I think KR is doing these interviews because she feels maligned and silenced. She wants to feel heard. But IMO, these pre-trial (or, I guess in this case, between-trial) interviews only ever have a negative outcome. It’s a hard thing to ask of her to continuously suffer in silence for almost 3 years now, but unfortunately, it’s also the best possible thing to have an unbiased trial. MOO.

The WHOLE turtle thing however goes way far over the line - IMO

IMO - she doesn’t appear to be suffering at all, she seems to relish being the center of attention and throughly enjoying herself

Attorney Mark Bederow went live with Attorney Melanie Little a couple of days ago for the first time since being rejected by the Court as defense counsel for KR, and brought up some very important outstanding issues on the eve of trial including delaying the trial pending a decision by the federal court, and the CW holding up the defense Motion to Dismiss where all the Motions bumped ahead would be moot if MTD decided fairly. Taken seriously, this Motion would clearly require a hearing that is not being budgeted for by this Court!

No doubt, the bias continues to outrage trial watchers .... MOO

Funny how the only things deleted and thrown away were from people who were in 34 Fairview that night. Funny how Karen didn't delete texts or voicemails. Funny she didn't make any butt dials but people in that house sure made a lot of them all in the immediate time JOK died. Funny how jen mcabe called JOK but never called Karen to ask where JOK was or why he didn't come inside the house. Funny how the only provable lies in this case came directly from people not named Karen Read!! Hmm, why could that be??

Just as y'all are saying JO was killed in the house and carried outside. I am not convinced either way, neither was the jury, and the CW is retrying her.

And it's never been Websleuths' policy to have to be well versed in every facet of a trial before commenting. There is no Karen Read trial exam to take prior to access the thread.

I get that a few of you are vehement KR supporters and that is fine. But I guess I know how JO's family feels when arriving and leaving the courthouse.
It's not as much being KR supporters as trusting in our law enforcement to investigate crimes properly, and not be biased, while having faith in our legal system to provide an adequate trial with proper evidence. This has gone beyond Karen's guilt or innocence because of all the mistakes having been made in this case. There are other scenarios that may explain JOK's death. But we're dealing with only two right now because that's what our LE and legal system has offered to date.
MOO.
