The motions hearing, which had gone on for approximately an hour before a brief recess, was resumed only briefly as Judge Cannone took the bench to announce, “The Commonwealth just provided me with information that causes me grave concern. The implications of that information may have profound impacts on the defense and defense counsel.” The judge offered no further information other than to schedule a hearing to discuss the issue on Feb. 25.

I dunno -- the defense provided the CW with the information that caused the Court grave concern! IMO, it would be better yet to have witnessed the Court showing even a fraction of this reaction to the blatant Brady Violations in recent weeks. JMO

So from what I can gather Brennan totally messed up here and this is another big stain on the CW and the Judge. by the way that behavior on the bench today was deplorable!! This is not the way for a judge to behave who is supposed to be impartial.

This latest development is quite curious. Is the CW trying to say that KR's defense team paid those witnesses? If so, I am not sure how that would be a grave concern unless someone stated under oath that they were NOT paid and they WERE paid.

Also, I just read in the TMZ article that the jury voted to acquit on the major charges and voted 9-3 in favor of conviction on the manslaughter. Is this correct? I've never seen a published jury split before.

"Karen's first trial ended in a mistrial after a jury voted to acquit her on charges of second-degree murder and fleeing the scene of an accident ... but split on vehicular manslaughter charges, deadlocking 9-3 in favor of conviction. She's set for a retrial in April."

I personally find this Judge's sudden " vapors" and dismissing the court for a week a little sus....in light of the Defense's latest plea ( Count One and Two dismissal) to the Feds coming to light at the same time.

Also, the stalling of Proctors final outcome of the 'Investigation"

As well as her fearing the dreaded Motion to Dismiss which has been banging the drum in her ears for weeks.

It's almost as if she's throwing in the towel. IMO

Have I got this right....So the state screws up on the content of the issue and the judge cancels the hearing. Over nothing. How much longer will she be allowed to preside and how much longer will the state get a pass on all their so called mistakes or missing evidence and everything else. This trial is painful to watch with all the bias against the defense.

The vapors is a good way to describe the judge's breathless faux fury.

The Lawyer You Know has a really good discussion about today. He thinks the judge's behavior was unprofessional. And Special DA Hank did have to admit at the end that the defense earlier this month had indeed sent him what he claimed he didn't have. Late, but he did have it. Despite all the drama he brought up and the judge endulged in.

And yet she was completely unbothered by the prosecution introducing manipulated Sallyport video....

According to the jury member who was recently interviewed by TB, the final vote was 8 - 4 in favor of conviction. He swung back and forth but ended up on the Not Guilty side.

It's appalling behavior. Very Ito-esque. She needs to be removed immediately. That little show today should be grounds for a dismissal. She has allowed the Prosecution to openly flaunt her direct orders about discovery time and time and time again.

It's also painfully obvious that Brennan is totally over-matched here and I suspect he's just throwing as many obstacles and hurdles in the Defense's way as possible to try to level the playing field. What he did today was equally as appalling. He's holier than attitude is really off putting and insulting. Did he really think a lawyer like Alan Jackson is going to tarnish his reputation by lying to a judge in open court in such a high profile case???!!! Absolutely ridiculous.

I think the judge seizes/relishes any opportunity that presents itself to try and tarnish Alan Jackson.
She wants Alan Jackson gone. He is an outsider. Plus he's smarter than she is and a great communicator. I am confident she feels he upstages her. She treats him poorly at every opportunity.
I watched the entire first trial - she really makes no effort to hide her disdain for him. In contrast she acts like a caring momma goose to the "ducklings" who are "her" jurors and fawns over the prosecution. So transparent.
If there is any justice left in these parts, things won't end well for her - she is on a national stage and seems to have no self awareness. She is out of her league.
ALL IMO

Totally agree with this! It was obvious during the trial how much disdain she held for AJ, especially all her "this is how we do it in Massachusetts, Mr. Jackson". He was 100% correct about the jury form being confusing and she could not stand that!

It's possible the defense paid for various travel expenses so that both could testify and have the receipts as proof that is all they paid for? The FBI paid for their opinions on the supposed car hitting JO. JMO
