OUCH!
The federal investigation found no evidence of anyone other than Karen Read hit John O’Keefe
Zero charges against police officers and no evidence of a conspiracy
Hmmm, so ARCCA who was hired by the Feds stated that his injuries were inconsistent with a vehicle strike. So, how can the Feds conclude KR hit JOK when their own experts stated he was not hit by a vehicle?

I hope Beverly gives Hank those 3 days of
Then it is your opinion, correct? No exact statement from the Feds. Just the submission from ARCCA that JO was not hit by her car nor his injuries caused by being hit by a car.
hasn’t it been established they were paid by the defense and worked with them?
I believe so.
Also - they were not given all the data nor did they test for the million possible variables

IMO

No it has not been established that the defense paid for the ARCCA testing.

Testimony - not testing
Isn't it business as usual for the defense to pay for their experts testimony time. Additionally the defense pays for travel and lodging plus meals. Nothing new here.

Yes, but they were falsely presented to the jury as 100% independent

She seemed heartbroken over it, but she knows it would have been a massive appealable issue if she'd allowed it.

The Judge ruled that the jury could not know who (the FBI) hired ARCCA. It was presented that they were hired by, "another agency" or something like that.

Yep. Someone had to pay for their travel and lodging. And as it was the defense who called them it made sense for them to pay these expenses. It was done AFTER the trial itself, and although I'd suggest the defense could have been a bit more transparent about it later.

There is ZERO doubt, however, that these experts were retained by the FBI and their actual work paid for by the FBI. This was 100% established last time around. Anyone claiming otherwise should go back and watch the trial and motion hearings.

They were paid by the FBI before KR was even on trial. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story though.

Given the timing of Proctor and his partner picking up KR's vehicle in Dighton that late afternoon, and returning it to Canton PD, it's not plausible that they could have stopped by the crime scene to plant pieces of tail light before the MSP SERT team did its work. And found the five pieces (three red, two clear) that were photographed and shown to the jury during Kevin O'Hara's testimony on June 3.

Proctor obviously has multiple screws loose. Unless you confess to murdering someone, it's pretty hard to get fired by the Mass State Police. The union is extremely powerful.

I just rewatched his trial 1 testimony. It really says everything about the state of things IMO. I have no idea what he did, but the ring video part of the testimony was crazy to me. Especially seeing i now know he managed to 'find' more sally port video since trial 1. In a way that is even stranger. Why would he now 'find' stuff that was deep sixed?

The planting of evidence by bad cops is not unheard of, and Proctor is just the sort of bad cop who would do such a thing. But we don't need to speculate about the pieces of tailllight not being there when the Canton police still had the case (They relinquished control once John was officially pronounced pronounced dead at the hosptial). They'd searched the entire area with a leaf blower before the snow accumulated beyond a few inches. 47 bright red pieces. All they found was a small piece of clear glass. And yet, after Proctor gets his hands on Read's vehicle, there they are.

I don't disagree necessarily, but i would need to understand the timeline exactly.

To top it off, the pieces were poorly photographed without context and not mapped out, so no one has any idea where they actually were located or can reconstruct a disbursement pattern. State cops know all about accident reconstructions when there is a road fatality, and yet nothing was done to ensure this "accident" could fully reconstructed.

This to me is why it should never have come to trial, and really says everything about how this kind of shoddy work would usually plead out I guess? I guess they just never expected this would be a big deal.

They never expected "the girl" to put up a fight, IMO.

As a Norfolk County resident this is so scary to me. How many times have they put away innocent people because those people had no financial means to fight back?

GPS mapping of the pieces located by SERT in the afternoon/evening of Jan 29 was shown to the jury, along with the photos, in Kevin O'Hara's June 3 testimony. There's a 20 minute Court TV video.

The showing was on a projection screen and GPS mapped a cluster of evidence recovered between the flagpole and the fire hydrant, including the one sneaker.

After the case went to the jury, the jury asked to see a written SERT report and were told they had all the evidence they were going to get.

This is the part i want to understand better at trial.

It's not clear to me how Proctor would have been able to get the relevant pieces, and get them to the crime scene for SERT to find. Where were those pieces anyway?
