Some majorly fallacious thinking here.
- False dilemma - ‘If the people in the house weren’t cops, this would be a simple hit and run.” That’s not how facts work. Affiliation doesn’t determine guilt or innocence, evidence does.
- Straw man - No one is claiming the house party guests are MS-13 killers. That’s an exaggeration you’re using to mock alternative theories rather than engage with the actual concerns: conflicting witness testimony, missing evidence, and troubling investigative conduct.
-Appeal to incredulity - “Why would his friends hurt him?” isn’t proof of anything. People harm people they know all the time. Especially when alcohol, power dynamics, or fights are involved. Saying “it doesn’t make sense” isn’t the same as proving it didn’t happen.
- Misuse of data - The GPS and temp data? The CW fought to keep those out of the first trial - and lost credibility for it. Cherry-picking the parts that sound damning while ignoring context (like when and how the black box triggered) is a little obtuse.
- Circular reasoning - ‘She was worried she hit him, so she must’ve hit him.” Simply illogical.

I want to think I could dismiss the way the evidence was collected in a manner that is not ... fill in the blank... approved, secure, etc. But to still not have anything aside from the collection, like a chain of custody, a log, etc., is even more inexcusable. I just don't buy that they couldn't have gotten swabs/secure evidence bags on scene. Are they expecting us to believe this is proper protocol for any investigation that happens outside of regular office hours?! Come on. This could have been so much easier if protocol was followed. MOO

Yes! When he first started talking to Brennan he was so self assured without arrogance. He appeared to be a long time cop who climbed the ranks and knew exactly how to do his job.

Has there never been a murder case or crime in Canton in winter before? Don’t police carry things like evidence bags etc in their cars?

And in other cases where protocol is not followed and chain of custody is not documented and evidence is mishandled and/or unlawfully obtained, isn't that evidence considered invalid, unusable, corrupted, ie useless in court and is thus thrown out and ordered not to be considered valid evidence at trial?

Why this compromised and invalid data is still being considered legal evidence in this case, I can't understand. Seems against all legal conventions and judicial policies and standards and I believe unconstitutional.
