This trial is insane. JMO

This doesn’t even look good for Brennan. So the ME was aware of statements that Karen may have hit John or said ‘I hit him’ (hearsay…) and she STILL didn’t list his cause of death as vehicular, or his manner of death as homicide. I don’t think this is accomplishing what Hank wants it to.

I thought she answered that she isn’t part of the criminal investigation, only the medical part. What is happening right now? He is trying to discredit his own witness, the ME that performed his actual autopsy.

RIGHT! This is an obscene miscarriage of justice here in my opinion!!

Good things to have for an appeal if needed. (though it really shouldn't be needed) JMO

Brennan is desperate. Trying to refresh the jury’s memory of the ‘I hit him/did I hit him/could I have hit him’ statements. Means nothing to the ME one way or another, totally outside her scope. He’s scrambling.

Because that's really all they have. That and a bunch of hearsay from a bunch of drunk Cantonites. JMO

Alessi following up. Asking about alcohol consumption and medications.

ME is reviewing a list of John’s medications to see if any could have a synergistic effect with alcohol.

Alessi specifically points out Omeprazole, an antacid. Pepcid. Its a PPI that can increase alcohol absorption.

Alessi points out that the ulcers in JOK’s stomach could have come from alcohol consumption rather than hypothermia. Dr. Scordi-Bello agrees.

Alessi pointing out that Dr. SB know of the potential ‘I hit him’ statements BEFORE issuing her findings. So she knew the rumors and was still unable to conclude John’s manner of death was homicide.

Sidebah.

The medical examiner has been the best defense witness so far. Wow just wow. Brennan was so awful to her, trying to discredit her report.

Just really driving this home. The lacerations on the front of John’s face could not be caused by John falling backward and hitting his head.

Judge Cannone is sounding very over it.

ME says yes, lacerations to the face had to occur with another harsh contact. She says it could be consistent with a punch. (Surprised Judge Cannone allowed that!)

Bingo! BAM!!!

Brennan:
Trashed her before trial 2 started
Then unexpectedly called her as a witness
Then trashed her on the stand when her testimony didn’t fit what he wanted to hear. Classsy.

Major props to Dr. Scordi-Bello. Very professional.

I'll never understand how some can watch this and want KR convicted. Even if you think Karen is Satan how can you not say we have reasonable doubt when the CW's own ME witness can't pinpoint a cause of death?

Not a lot of happy faces on the CW's side of the courtroom! They looked defeated in my opinion. They all just saw how desperate and terrible hank was this afternoon! And that is with the judge allowing all that hearsay stuff to go on. You have to wonder if they are reading the juror's faces. No matter, this was another horrible day for the CW IMO!

Wow!! Aperture submitted a new report on 5/11 with an updated time and Alessi is asking it be thrown out.

Yeah, if the defense introducing that Jessica Hyde’s expert testimony was thrown out of a case was too late and couldn’t be included, this is DEFINITELY too late. IMO
