Mistates her testimony. She stated she looked at his lower body and there was no evidence of a vehicle collision.

Hank Brennan: "A bruise on the knee, is that consistent with a side-swipe impact?"

Dr Scordi-Bello: "It could be."

That's not quite correct. She was referring there to a head-on collision. She then testified under redirect that John's knee bruising could be consistent with a side-swipe impact. And also testified his head trauma was consistent with a backwards fall on frozen ground.
The key word could equals reasonable doubt as Alessi pointed out. Nothing said above was a definitve answer.

Here we go. One other ‘very important’ instruction from Judge Cannone. She is telling the jury to not make faces, mutter under their breath, etc.

The ME said lots of things were "possible". In the end, she had all the knowledge that the jurors have already, possibly more, and STILL did not determine a manner of death, and did not find evidence of JOK being struck by a vehicle.

She also had the ability to amend her final reports. She did not and has not done that.

Brennan is offering a stipulation that’s been agreed to between the parties.

Both parties respectfully stipulate that the two MSP officers present at the autopsy were Troopers Keefe and Watson. Former Trooper Michael Proctor was not present.

That clears up that photo shown yesterday.

Interesting instruction. Wonder if it was a juror who said 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 under their breath?

Judge Cannone even went as far as saying that they're not allowed to make facial expressions while evidence is being heard 🤣

Lots of court reporting said that jurors were scoffing, shaking heads, laughing, and even talking to each other. Probably trying to put a stop to that.

The jurors are human. They can't sit stonefaced. Does anyone know any other cases where a judge has given simular instructions. Not on any of the juries I have sat on. moo

Andre Porto, a forensic scientist II with MSP is up. Lally is questioning him. Need to finish my morning coffee for this.

I said this last trial, there is a reason so many of these troopers have bald heads and it's because it makes them harder to identify. This is no coincidence IMO.

Did she say that? haha I heard the mumbling or talking under your breath thing.

Interesting. Not sure I have heard that 'instruction' to a jury lol

No other case have been so outrageous and ridiculous! This shows you how bad things are going for the CW IMO.

Last trial the defense didn’t cross examine Porto. They said it doesn’t matter if JOK’s DNA was found on Karen’s car. They dated for years and practically lived together, often sharing vehicles.

So looks like no resolution to yesterday afternoons issue that we will hear this morning.
I wonder when? Or maybe the sidebar dealt with it.
Hopefully Brennan just withdrew his request at that side bar.

She also told Hank ‘anything can happen’. She doesn’t know. That is certainly not evidence of Karen’s guilt. She can’t preclude it. She also can’t preclude a werewolf attacking John and running off into the night, because as she said, ‘anything could happen’ to cause that bruise/abrasion to the knee. That’s why the manner of his death is undetermined. <modsnip>

At the end of the day, Dr. Scordi-Bello could not find John’s wounds to be consistent with a vehicular strike.

Pretty sure Dr. Scordi-Bello said yesterday that law enforcement is entitled to be at autopsy if they so wish. Lots of testimony to dig through though, and I wonder if CPD specifically would be allowed if they were recused (only from the interview portion?)

Canton PD was completed conflicted out. Kevin Albert. They should have had nothing to do with the investigation at that point.

@JHall7news

Hank Brennan announced an agreement stating M Proctor did not attend the autopsy, he played a Read media clip talking about removing a piece of glass from John O’Keefe’s face at the crime scene
