What isn’t understood? What you brought up is a red herring to distract from the witnesses’ apparent deceptiveness in his career field and degree history. A red herring is a logical fallacy intended to distract from the issue at hand.

Burgess said that he has it timestamped. If Alessi disagreed, he needed to put that contention to this witness IMO.

While I acknowledge the possibility to argue in the alternative e.g this Brian or that Brian or both Brians, I don't think it's realistic to argue "my client was not driving at high speed in reverse but even if she was it was 20 seconds earlier ... "

Just as a practical matter, I don't think he will do that - nor is it what he said to the Judge.

MOO
Not that it probably matters, but Burgess timestamped it for the wrong day so what he said is timestamped doesn't hold a lot of weight. Maybe Brennan will clean it up on redirect, but this experts work was too sloppy to be fully relied on.

Anyone else but me completely lost? I have no idea what he's trying to say. It's just so much of a reach. Is the CW trying to provide reasonable doubt that she didn't do?

The amount of time he was taking to get his degree... how he was doing it... why it was taking so long, etc. really doesn't matter if the Degree he said he was pursuing at the University of Alabama doesn't even exist JMO
It was instead called a General Studies major, so what?

Wait - did she back up at 24 miles an hour on a curve and strike him (Trooper Joe PauL) or did she kill him by doing a three point turn at a much slower speed? (Whilst John stood there and watched)

Which version is the Commonwealth going with this time?

Did he not submit credentials to the court that list him as still pursuing his degrees?
Sorry. Not going to debate with you if this guy misrepresented his credentials lol. That ship has sailed.

  • #289
Maybe he's just been waiting for them to actually add the degree so that he can pursue it?
Doesn't "pursuing" a degree actually mean that you're enrolled?

Do you not know the difference between General Studies and Applied Mathematics, its a HUGE difference?

A general studies is just "a flexible undergraduate degree program that allows students to customize their coursework around their interests and career goals"

An Applied Mathematics degree focuses on using mathematical concepts and tools to solve real-world problems across various fields like science, engineering, and business.

I'm not knocking a general studies degree, but to think it's equivalent to an Applied Math degree is just insanity.

I didn't even pick up that may be a new theory of the CW. You may be right. The CW is spending a lot of time on the 3-point turn.

It’s like who is on first lol.

Brennan trying to clear himself and then taking us on a walk about to who knows where with this guy.

Omg. We are talking about seconds here. Seconds. And he’s calling his times approximate. How can u be talking about approx times when you are dealing with seconds.

The problem is @sunshineray SB walked into that trial, sat in that chair, banking on these forgery qualifications and then testified. That’s perjury.

He accepted money based on fake credentials. That’s fraud. That’s civil theft. That’s illegal in every state.
It’s not just unethical—it’s a crime.

Burgess showed several examples of video evidence yesterday that contradict his own analysis. He says the Lexus clock is slow; you have to add 21-29 seconds to get the correct time.

But when you apply that to Karen leaving 1 Meadows to look for John around 5:07, we see that even in the video presented, the Lexus is leaving the garage before his alleged power on event.

Photo attached is from his presentation with my markup.
Yes! And good luck on Aperture trying to adjust the other three clocks with JOK's wifi router clock. Lexus says ~12:41 and router says ~12:36. That's not the seconds offset they're playing with, but many minutes.

Are you saying you found a source that shows that his school did have a ‘General Studies in Mathematics and Business’ as Burgess listed? That’s a very specific degree. I haven’t.

This trial feels deeply unserious at this point, IMO

On all three CV's he listed the exact same degree program, never correcting it.
However, the dates were either 2022, 2024, or currently pursuing the degree in the program that doesn't exist.
He lied, and it's going to affect his life, the company that he works (worked?) for, and this case.
IMO.

’There's really no way to rehabilitate the education part of it. You know, the guys from 'Animal House' finished in fewer than 17 years for their undergraduate degree. So it's really problematic that he would lie on such a basic point."’

That’s all on cross for Burgess, unless they really do decide to bring him back to retort to ARCCA… over/under on that happening, anyone?
The spread is much larger than the seconds offsets they're using!

IMG_3663.webp On redirect, Brennan asked Burgess about one of his qualifications and seemed surprised when Burgess said no, he did not have it. I wonder why…Oh wait, he lists this ‘Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator’ cert as a professional certification on his CV!
