Alessi just messed up again, moved on and didnt even acknowledge.
He even sounds flustered for a few seconds while he gathers himself.

Witness had to tell him he was wrong and mixing up two different things.

Is this guy allergic to ‘yes’ and ‘no’? My goodness.

I see what Alessi is doing..

triggers only show 5 seconds befoer, 5 seconds after the "trigger"...
Welcher is trying to say that it ONLY travelled 34 feet ahead, but how can he know how long it went because we have no info from before the trigger minus the 5 seconds. The same for reversing.

And now I understand the distance to be ...

34 feet in forward... 34 feet reverse PLUS 50ish feet (so reversed 84+ feet because we don't have the end of the reverse time) ... If I understood it.

Those of you watching the trial and reporting back here to the rest of us are truly doing the Lord's work!! 😂 My nerves (surely not because of the triple espresso I had this morning) are shot... I am on pins and needles every time I refresh page. Thank you for the updates!!

JMO, but I am finding Welcher arrogantly rude and not even wanting to listen to him anymore. Could jurors be feeling the same?
He is honestly insufferable. There's no way the jury isn't noticing.

I do think Alessi is somewhat rattled but this guy is rude. If you’re confident in your work you should be able to just answer the questions.
Welcher is being rude and obnoxious which is not a good look for an expert who is meant to know what he's talking about. Alessi is doing well given the level of arrogance he is dealing with imo. In some ways Welcher is being given enough rope to hang himself. This will be much clearer once the jury sees the contrast when Drs Wolfe and Rentschler testify. Ditto for the animal attack experts.

All the hypotheses and impossibilities which are being ignored by Welcher owing to his partiality and confirmation bias will be laid out. There is only so much that can be done on cross with a witness who is this arrogant, rude, boundary busting and all round difficult. Jmo

I'm about an hour behind on this but this is Alessi's worst trial performance by far. Floundering.

replying to myself... he just confirmed that the Lexus backed up 87 feet.

Insufferable is the perfect word for this expert.

Dr. Welcher dressed in John O’Keefe’s clothing, stood in a specific position, and used the Lexus taillight to project a beam onto his arm at 2mph to demonstrate alignment. He also claimed the vehicle was the exact height needed to cause John’s head injury while standing in that position. But now he says he didn’t have enough information about John’s exact location or posture to conduct a test with a crash dummy, or to perform a full scientific impact analysis? That’s a pretty big contradiction. If the scenario is too speculative to test with a dummy, then how was it solid enough to model with his own body and claim alignment with the injuries? MOO

He also didn't take into account in his blue paint test the berm that would have raised JOK several inches.

Give the expert enough rope and if he is unsure of the validity of his findings and opinion he will hang himself...this appears to be what is happening to Welcher. Jmo
He doesn't know where on the roadway it started. That should be that.

Welcher was pretty clear yesterday that he wasn't aware of the speed at which JOK was hit. He should have been able to at least get a minimum speed that it would take to shatter the tail light. Too many unknowns apparently.

Oh my god even Judge Cannone seems over Welcher. He keeps trying to talk over and around Alessi. MOO.

And the white jeep has entered the testimony.

I think Dr Welcher’s was mistaken when he said he didn’t have a dog in this fight. I think Aperture is his dog, and he doesn’t want to see his business’ reputation demolished. I think that’s why he’s pushing back so hard, being evasive, not answering the question as it was asked, etc
