Jen McCabe lied repeatedly. She kept saying she made butt calls over and over to John. She also lied about calling her sister just after 5 am even though the records showed she called her and that the call was answered. She lied to the FBI when they came to call and said she was her sister. She told them she had to go into her house to brush her teeth and in that ten minute span made 5 phone calls, including to John’s mother. She told the FBI she made two calls and when her husband told her not to lie to the FBI she called them back and said she made five.

Do you think the jury “got lt” were the last 4 to 5 days of testimony enough? After sitting through the swamp of the CW case.?
Reading a jury.. predicting a jury... no one knows.. and I hate to do it.

If we look at all the active posters here, are we representative of the jury? (although I hear they are YOUNG haha)... I don't know how they get 12 people to agree on guilty? I "think" it's more likely you could get 12 to agree on not guilty BARD. But there could be one that holds on against the others, either way.. resulting in a hung jury again.

I hope it is not a hung jury. JMO

Sounds like Brenner is a deflated balloon with no fire left. Lol!
Oh my, catching up and I HAVE to see this!!
That is absolutely what the CW deserves for bringing such a case to court!

Where is there any legitimate evidence against KR?

I see zero zip nil cero nought zilch nada goose- egg- None!

IMO

I feel like the CW couldn't even have gotten a guilty verdict after its case in chief, let alone after the defense witnesses. However, a hung jury is still a possibility, since as has been evidenced, some people don't understand the concept of reasonable doubt.

This is a huge one. Orchestrated all of it on KR and of course, what to do about the 'man on the lawn'. Two people, careers and family and the two children, gone, to cover their current lives or lives at the time. Sure that will change. IMO

In T1, it was 5 days of deliberations though that was when the mistrial was called - they had been unable to reach a verdict well before that point. (Well, they apparently didn’t know they could acquit / find guilty independently so..). I’d say this time will be different for a variety of reasons including that the jury will more like than not be told that they can answer the charges separately from the others. I definitely think much less time for this trial.

Being on verdict watch is so anxiety inducing — can’t imagine how KR feels. Tough.

AR gives birthday (who does that during a murder trial) wishes to his kid. Did he think about the grieving mother who tragically lost her son is sitting in the courtroom.

-- Both ARCCA witnesses gifted the CW.

-- It’s rather interesting that the defense expert (EL & AR) witnesses apparently wanted to get their own direct point of views across, rather than state their professional opinion. Very salty biased behavior.

-- Never seen so many defense expert witnesses willing to lie under oath/compromise reputation.
-- Dancing around simple questions asked by Attorney Brennan. Couldn’t answer simple questions. Vague.

I agree, what a class-less move!

Very hard to get 12 people out of the gate to agree on anything, but that's what the deliberation process is about.

From the few jurors who were willing to talk about the last trial, it sounds like there was a bully juror with a very strong personality who was pushing hard for a manslaughter conviction, but he still only ended up with 8 of 12 on his side at the end of the day. The reality of jurors is that a certain number are always going to be inclined to going with the stronger personalities, and sometimes, with the majority.

I don't see any chance of all 12 people buying Hank's nonsense. I get that he was working with an exceptionally weak case but he didn't help matters by acting like a defense attorney and a jerk the whole time. The Commonwealth didn't come close to proving there was a collision. I expect a Not Guilty on all charges this time.

I feel it SHOULD be quicker and now that the defense is well aware of the shady doings in previous trial and jury not being instructed properly but rushed out, they will make sure never again with that behavior of court. I feel that the ARRCA and Coroner made excellent testimony that was clear and direct on their findings. Helpful to any jury in decision time. IMO

Huh? HB pretty much destroyed his own "expert" today with his questioning of AR. How many times did AR have to say that was the medical diagnosis in response to HB going in circles? When someone being questioned has to stop and say, I'll slow down and speak more clear for you after answering a question multiple times, that doesn't look good on the attorney asking questions. When two experts say they don't believe he was hit by a car in response to questions being asked by the prosecuting attorney, that attorney screwed up bad

Just finished watching on catch up. I thought Rentschler came across as an absolute sleazeball to be honest (and his opening good guy gambit with his birthday shoutout to his kid is one of the real moral low points of this trial).

Nothing has really changed my overall view that this case is destined to be another hung jury though.

My hope is that the FBI has been tapping phones.

I agree about the kid talk but totally disagree with everything else. He used science based testing and data and came to the same conclusion as the doctors.

Because it came up, above: These excerpted from video of testimony first trial AJ cross examine of BA. This the bulkhead arrangement one still from just after the incident and one still after the upgrade....
Upper photo is the After: White man door at bottom of (I believe...) wooden steps, it has a profile face. Steel bulkhead door with gas strut to right. Immediately below lower end of strut is CC retaining wall, which actually exists on 3-sides.

Lower still is from indoors, with man door open, looking to underside of bulkhead doors. Bulkhead doors and steps appear to be wooden and man door is dark on outside face, has no profiling, is a flat plane on side we can see. This still obviously in low light; can be seen a little better on video:
Cured at time 1:03.

Steps appear steep in both views and there is no apron beyond lowermost step, appears to be a metal threshold plate. Descending, a person would seem to have to turn knob and open door with their feet at least one step above the interior floor level or their feet would tend to be wedged between the lowermost riser and the man door panel.

I’m clueless how this applies to this case= what is this??
Can someone please point my brain in a direction- I’m catching up still listening to Rentchler’s (sp??) testimony.

Thx

IMO

Were both Welcher and Burgess at the courtroom? Any more of the CW witnesses?
Perhaps inside "the Courthouse" but witnesses are generally not allowed in the courtroom until they are excused by the Court. And especially in this tiny courtroom! Brennan has made a big deal about the sequestration orders... JMO

I’m hopeful we will have a verdict by Tuesday. 🤞🏻

I personally don’t think a guilty verdict is possible, certainly not on a murder 2 charge. Juries are unpredictable sometimes though, so even though I couldn’t convict on the manslaughter charge, some may want to. Hate to think that as I think KR deserves for this to end. There was never enough evidence to even bring a murder charge and imo if JOK wasn’t a cop, this wouldn’t be happening.
