I never found the clips "compelling", but I also don't believe everything I see in a "clip" ... news, claims of different things, the world is full of short clips about everything lol Something taken out of context seems to be the norm in recent years. Look at news headlines, more often than not, they are misleading too.

The mortally wounded clip... it was pretty clear to me that she meant that morning when he was found, but some people thought otherwise.

Now that I know there will not be a 3rd season, I will go and watch her interviews and Body in the Snow docuseries if I can find them ;)
I think dateline’s is called the Nor’easter if you’re interested in that one. It was pretty good. I think it’s on YouTube now. A while back it was hard to find. Had to flip through every dateline on Amazon or whatever platform has the datelines because i didn’t recall the title of it and just searching John O’Keefe and Karen read wasn’t sufficient

It would be one thing is she was stumbling and obviously drunk when leaving the bar. But she wasn’t. This is not the fault of the bars. it’s such a shame they are seeking justice in all the wrong places
If she had 9 drinks in total between 2 bars over a period of 4 or 4 hours, that’s not enough for a bartender to cut her off. And if John was buying them for her, how would they even know the drinks were for her?

I'm not interested in drama, only evidence. If he was hit at low speed it’s difficult to have clear evidence of being hit by a car especially in snow. I have seen people get hit at speed and get right up. He was clearly hit hard enough to get knocked out. The theory he was dragged there from inside the house is contradicted by clean snow around him , no foot prints nothing. apparently he was magically placed there by the group who killed him for no reason.
IMO, watching at least some of the trial would clear up a lot of these misunderstandings. The jury, who heard the evidence, found her not guilty BARD and with moral certainty.

Proctor ain’t looking too good on 2020! Anyone watching this should be utterly disgusted.

I think that the defense did a great job getting information from the last jurors. I think they knew what to focus on and what not to. The data, is just not as solid as it appears.... then the whole time drift thing... it did not look good for the CW.

Karen Read may want to send Burgess and Welcher thank you cards.

All JMO
I guess the jurors didn’t find key cycle 1162 very compelling ;)

I am watching and I have never watched her interviews before, so it's actually interesting for me haha

Proctor looks like he has put on some weight. They are making it sound like LE is "finally speaking out", but uhmmm easy to speak out when you are no longer an employed trooper, they can't stop him lol

I wanted to throw something at my tv when he said “hope she kills herself” is just a figure of speech.

Proctor did a sit down with 20/20! OMG
2 hours. On ABC.
At least JulieA doesn’t have to cough up a nice “thank you” gift to Proctor for all his efforts in helping them out. (As she once texted in the early days)

I can’t believe his wife can stand next to him. Yuck. IMO. I would be mortified if my husband behaved like him and certainly would NOT stand next to him, especially on TV.

True story...so there's this guy, he goes to Home Depot, buys (2) 2x4's, has them sticking a couple feet out the passenger side window of his 2 door coupe. He's going around 30mph, and those 2x4's, the first thing they hit is the driver side rear tail light on my 2017 F250. (doing a total of around 16k dollars of damage to the entire driver side of the truck)

Anyway, I'm right in front of the truck, running a sidewalk edger, and hear...WHAMMO!

I mean, solid wood, slamming that tail light. I picked up the plastic, it wasn't anywhere close to 47 pieces, or whatever number they testified to :) PLUS, there was no damage to the inner reflector(s) bulbs, etc.

That unofficial real life experience led me straightaway to realize the idea that someone's arm blew out a tail light fixture, resulting in shards described as microscopic, simply couldn't be true.

Not to mention what I believe to be the preposterous claim that said jagged shards chewed up the decedent's arm in such manner as the photo's showed...ain't no way this ole boy is buyin' THAT!

Good call, NOT GUILTY, somebody should pick up the ball and do a REAL investigation in to who killed JOK.

This idea that a whole litany of LE had to conspire in this case...it's simply not true. In my opinion, only 2 had to conspire. And, lying liars are good at lying, they'll lie to anyone, anytime.

I agree with an earlier post, think about it, get a tail light fixture of the same kind and smack that sucker with your forearm hard enough to bust it in to 47 pieces, some microscopic, and bust out the inner reflector(s) to boot. I guarantee there'll be some bruising, not to mention a very likely broken arm, PLUS, make sure to wear a sweater or hoodie, and lacerate that forearm in a dozen places or so. The idea that THAT is what occurred here is, in my unofficial and unprofessional opinion, preposterous. Good thing the jury thought so too!

What does the 24D mean that Karen was sentenced to, along with 1 year probation?

Was it ever theorized why he was assaulted and murdered that night? Why was he murdered?
I assume they just wanted to punch him bc booze and men and everybody ten sheets to the wind - he accidently fell backwards ( bac 0f .289 ish)- a feather prob could have knocked him over - Chloe the German shepard who is a biter jumps in - tragic accident.

Its at a cops house who is on the gang unit in Boston /his buddy is there who is ATF - maybe they thought he was just passed out intially who knows but they decide to put him out on the lawn to make it look like the plow hit him while he was walking home - or something just imo. Or maybe there were drugs in the house or other illegal stuff or a million other reasons to not call 911 - esp when drunk and not using "liquor" judgement.

Lots of theories as to why - but would take me forever so maybe someone else will jump in

Most who think critically realize the lack of blood in the snow indicates the possibility that he was placed in the snow after he bled from the head wound elsewhere. As a medical professional, I can assure you that head wound bled. Where? Well, that’s a great question. Bc it certainly didn’t bleed where he was found in the snow.

The defense claim he was placed outside with a fresh head wound, so the bleeding should have continued unless a person bleeds only a very short amount of time from a serious head would. There is a lot of assumption on how much bleeding should be expected from that wound in that weather, again it's a grey zone.

I did not follow the trial in microscopic detail, so I am refreshing some facts in the trial. The smoke and mirrors are obvious, though along with her guilt. <modsnip - off topic>

IMO they’re not hung on manslaughter at all, they’re hung on OUI.

just fyi - defendants are ususally offered headphones/ear buds to listen to the side bar from the defense table but the judge would not allow that - hence you see Karen at the side bar.

She is a smart woman who is very invested and involved in her defense. I don't see how it can be offensive to anybody unless it's perceived as "uppity"/who does she thinks she is ?

JMO
It really disturbs me to see her being criticized for this. Her life was on the line; how dare she be a full participant in her own defense? It feels very belittling, suggesting the little lady sit down and let the lawyers take care of everything. Some people really do not like strong, empowered women, and this case has brought out few..

Do you have links to these facts that you're claiming to refresh?
I'd like to see them.
TYIA.
