"Perkins echoed Jackson, saying that after salaries, the DA’s office’s $14 million budget “leaves only $2.7 million for all operational expenses.” Morrissey has “spent more than one-third of his entire operating budget for the special prosecutor and expert witnesses on the retrial alone.”

“DA Morrissey doubled- and tripled-down on using every resource possible to prove he was right, rather than seeking justice,” Perkins wrote."

Lovely. So Brian Albert would ‘take a bullet’ for John… but wouldn’t put on pants?

Got it.
I think he got knocked in the head to many times from his boxing days. He incriminates himself saying all these stupid things. He is the epitome of Evil . Moo

I’m not a cop at all and I am pretty sure I would throw on pants and go outside if my good friend was found dead on my lawn after being invited to my house. How can he think this sounds reasonable to normal people? He is stone cold.
I think most of us would throw on pants and go outside even if it was a stranger found dead on our lawn!

I can tell you one thing -- if a dead body was found on my front lawn, you can bet your bottom dollar LE would be at my front door with a search warrant with the quickness. JMO

Yes, in retrospect JOK was already deceased by the time help arrived, but BA couldn't possibly have known that at the time (wellll, unless....), and using it as his excuse for not having gone outside. Geez I hope there's some further investigation, the more they talk, the more they leak info.
Thank you for saying that. If you know he’s already dead, then I guess it’s not worth the extra effort and 60 seconds it takes to get dressed.

I thought it was a questionable decision for Karen to do all of those interviews. Then the McCabes, Alberts and Proctor collectively said: 'Hold my beer!'

Right? JOK was dead. End of story. Because of course a cop wouldn’t be at all curious or concerned about how his fellow cop and friend died in his yard. Better to lay in bed, unable to overcome the enormous obstacle of putting on pants.

The Juror Jason: 'There were holes in that case that left reasonable doubt,' Jason said, though he noted he was not sure whether police corruption played a role in the 'poor investigation' into O'Keefe's death.

'I don't know if there was any corruption going on, but I do know that there wasn't enough proof or evidence secured by the police to convict Karen Read, absolutely,' he explained.

I was re-watching the moment that the jury's verdict was read, and I think it speaks volumes that David Yannetti was sobbing as he hugged Karen.
Tears of joy and relief all around, and I think most of us here felt that. It was such a beautiful moment.

It is nice to see the jurors saying the same thing some of us said... or thought... I love that they are talking, or some of them are!

Juror 11, Paula, is on X now (has learned how to block people already lol)... she will be on with Howie Carr show at 2:05pm today too!

It’s not like he needed to brush his hair. lol. Plus, he was a Boston cop and for some reason it meant he shouldn’t help the guy on his lawn.

Yanetti seems like one of the most sincere kind attorneys I have ever watched. Not as flashy as the rest but steady and a real rock for KR. I assume the family must have known him for KR to reach right out to him?

Gotta love how the Alberts, McCabes and Proctors are so busy on the redemption tour but it’s making them look worse and worse.

I will not give ABC or whoever clicks to watch the McCabes and Albert's 'pity us' fest. Just wondering though, did the Interviewer ask them what they think happened to JOK, since it was proven in court that THERE WAS NO COLLISION ???? imo

I'm concerned for Karen in the Civil Trial. And the fact that there is even a civil trial because the state wrongfully charged her is saddening. There is a guy on a social media platform (that they keep trying to ban) who literally shows how the marks on the back of John's head match up with the clasp on the back of his hat, and with the groves on weights in that basement. Maybe that evidence and be researched and used in the civil trial since BC is not in charge there?

You all probably know who she can sue better than I do, but she needs to sue all over the place. To have to sell your home, lose your job, cash in your 401k etc....just to try to keep from getting railroaded into prison is astounding. How would most regular people be able to survive that? We can't...that's what this whole thing is about for everyone outside of that courthouse.

Thank goodness she had a great team and jurors who listened despite BC blocking every objection.
We can hope that a civil trial will allow the defense to introduce a lot of the evidence, testimony and third party culprit information that they could not bring forth in the CW suite.

only thing left now is the O'Keefe family to speak out or maybe I missed them. I assume they might stay low key with a pending civil case. I think given what I have seen of them they feel compelled to continue on with that one and despite the lower bar for guilty hope they lose.

So touching to see how impacted the lawyers were by the verdict. They are a class act!

It's interesting to note starting at about 6:24, after they have the sidebar re: the sentence, and HB makes his 1 year probation recommendation, Yanetti tries to make a statement when she cuts him off and says, "I'm happy to do it". LOL.
Finally, she's happy to do something for the defense.

It was actually genuinely surprising that both the CW & Judge Cannone didn't try to delay further and drag the sentencing out another fortnight or more.

I think everyone just wanted it over after the NG verdict, especially Hank and Cannone, and even Karen Read and her team. What a waste of time/money/energy if everyone had to come back again. Finally, the CW and Judge were accommodating to that.
One thing I'm curious about ... just before the sentencing, the clerk spoke about if she wants the verdict to be unsealed, she has to apply within 10 days. I imagine she would want that to be left unsealed, but not sure why it's done that way.
