Statement from Massachusetts State Police

“The events of the last three years have challenged our Department to thoroughly review our actions and take concrete steps to deliver advanced investigative training, ensure appropriate oversight, and enhance accountability. Under my direction as Colonel, the State Police has, and will continue to, improve in these regards. Our focus remains on delivering excellent police services that reflect the value of professionalism and maintain public trust.”

How about you start with Buhkenik and Tully, Colonel? Both still collecting fat salaries.

Watching Michael Proctor last night, two things struck me. First, he was clearly planning on making himself look like the victim here if he'd been called to the stand by the defense. Probably to the point of weeping about his "dumb remarks" whilst insisting he did a bang-up job otherwise. Good call not calling him.

Secondly, he's incredibly dumb. Like unbelievably stupid. Just the kind of idiot who would routinely plant evidence to make his work easier because he's so clueless as to how to actually proceed with a thorough, impartial investigation. Quality work takes work. And this work takes a least an average amount of brain cells. Something Proctor doesn't appear to have.

NEW THEORY (mostly because I'm having withdrawal from the case now...)

What if....it came down to only 2 people and one dog? And JOK never did "make it in the house" which is why he wasn't seen.

The 2 Brians - BH & BA hanging on in the garage with Chloe - maybe one of them smokes in the garage while Chloe is let out the backyard. They don't want Chloe in the house because it's crowded.

They see JOK coming up the lawn, open the side service door to the garage and wave him in. Confrontation over KR turned into a scuffle which turned into Chloe jumping in and JOK falling and hitting his head. Music in house loud. Voices in house loud. Door to garage shut. Maybe music playing the garage? But whatever happens, happens quickly and fairly quietly and goes unnoticed. Because they are drunk and stupid, they panic. They know KR is outside and are freaking out. So they slip inside and act naturally and no one suspects a thing. Karen leaves. Everyone goes home. BH decides to go to CPD for an alibi because he knows he will be seen. Maybe he goes and does some other stuff, doesn't matter at this point.

Meanwhile, since JOK is now in a semi-warmish garage, a bit warmer than outside, the phone begins to cool at slower rate. NOTE: I do NOT believe Jen made the search at 2:37 am. Maybe she made the search in the morning. Maybe KR asked her and forgot. Who could blame anyone? It was chaos! BH calls BA - all good? Need anything? BA says no - go home. I've got this. Maybe he runs and gets Chris or reaches out another way and Chris comes help him move John to the curb to make it look like a snow plow hit him.

Someone (BH/BA) goes to 1 Meadows and finds the piece of tail light in the driveway that they had heard she cracked and takes it back to BA house and drops in the snow to be found that first evening by SERT team. Is that enough? Maybe not. BH decides to smash the tail light more and sprinkle the rest of the pieces throughout the yard to strengthen the case. Cops, judges, DAs, etc...usually have no problem believing one another rather than an outsider, so they move forward believing everything is just as it seems.

The rest can easily be explained by a combination of confirmation bias, family loyalty, blue line loyalty, or just truly not knowing or feeling intimidated to even state any of their suspicions particularly because they have no proof. Maybe the wives and some family have an idea, but it isn't necessary that they are in on the plot. Maybe they just turn a blind eye. Or maybe they literally do believe KR did it and are helping as much as possible.

It's not that hard to understand and there doesn't need to be 20-30 people colluding to cover up a crime.

It is not just his followers outside the courtroom. People from all over were there because of all of the media attention in the case. Because all of the evidence that has been presented, they were there to support Karen. The jurors were not taken through the crowds. They have been hidden from the public's eye for good reason. The crowd was quite because Karen asked them to be. That is why they held up "I Love You" in sign language rather than loudly telling her when she arrived in the mornings. The jury would have zero reason to be intimidated by that crowd. From the first trial, the jury WAS intimidated by the crowd sitting in the courtroom - not on the defense side.

You may have your opinion; but I my honest opinion, it is highly demeaning to say that 2 juries only voted to acquit her on murder because of social media and followers.

And the people in the town have had enough of the corruption. They were saying no more! We are watching and our voices will be heard.

Hope it is okay to share this link... Jackson was on... if you go back to the beginning of the live... it starts about 5 or 6 minutes in.

I have just started to listen... one thing he brought up, he has never seen where 100% of objections are sustained.. but it happened here.. lol

Thx for posting. I’ve been in the car most of the day so I meant to listen in to his show on the radio to hear what AJ had to say. You can also find the interview on Howie carr’s website.
Howie said Alan is packing up to get back to LA but will be back in a month or so and sit down for an hour with him then. I heard this after tuning in a bit too late.

The 2 Brians - BH & BA hanging on in the garage
RSBM

Given the physicality displayed at the Waterfall between BA and BH can we necessarily rule out JOK seeing something he shouldn't have seen in the garage?

I have seen this theory floated elsewhere...

  • #227
There was something in Jen McCabe's health or step data that made me consider at one point that maybe she didn't know until 2:27-ish that something had happened to John. I don't remember if it was lots of steps around that time or something else.

Next in some time frame, there is and will be more public, hopefully, investigation info on others. Can't let this killing just lay. Never happens that way. IMO
There really seems to be a local groundswell of opinion to toss the DA out at the next election and reopen this investigation.
Hopefully the momentum continues.

Emily D. Baker said they behaved like two 7th grade boys trying to impress some girls. Lots of grown arse people in later middle age acting like kids in this story.

With that said, anything is possible here. The garage explains why some more "impartial" people insist they saw nothing. (Sarah Levinson in particular). But considering the floorplan, I can see people in the dining area not seeing John go downstairs to BA's man cave too. And Jen McCabe's behavior doesn't fit with her knowing nothing that night, whether you believe the early google search is likely or not. All those butt dials with nothing going to voicemail? Trying to make it seem Karen's car was still there at a time she clearly couldn't have been? That woman is complicit.

Unless something gives, people will be speculating at this case for decades to come.

I assume it was to deal with the loss of his sister and BIL, inclusive of his new role as legal guardian of the kids, etc. Karen said that JOK was gruff and stubborn about it, he didn’t want to open up. I believe she said he gave it a shot, but he ultimately didn’t see the point.
It would have been great if the two of them would have gone together.
John seemed to lack any conflict resolution skills within the relationship - Might have shone a light on a lot of issues.
I think it would have been a huge help.
I am a big proponent of any healthy tool that can help you live a happier and more fulfilled life.
The pattern in some families is to never admit weakness and perhaps just have a drink.
I know that was the case in my mom’s big Irish growing up family. I suspect the same with the OK’s.

I vaguely remember that. It was elevated heart rate or something of that sort.

He's being primaried for sure. Something that probably hasn't happened to him much, if ever, during his tenure. Won't shock me if he retires rather than run again. Norfolk County is very blue, so he'd probably beat a Republican in a general, but if there is one stand-out Democratic candidate, he probably won't survive the primary. And he'll be 72 next year.

Absolutely nauseating when Proctor said the "I hope she kills herself" was just a joke....
One part I liked (towards the beginning IIRC) was he forgot JM’s name. He was like “Jen……….uh………..McCabe.” I guess it could’ve been a brain fart but I was suspicious that he was trying to look like he barely knew her.

  • #234
I am just starting to watch! He just said, he doesn't know what happened and he could only go by what was presented to him in the trial... he is great!

I think a lot of people forget what wasn't presented in this trial.

The videos of her car.. tail light shouldn't have been lit up red, after the alleged collision! yay for smart jurors!

Still listening lol
where can I see or listen to this interview? thanks.

It was the taillight and the taillight pieces that convinced me that this was not just a shoddy investigation, but an overt attempt at framing a person. Someone went overboard with the taillight. Took it into the realm of the impossible

I think some version of this may be as close to “the truth” as we will get. Once I heard that the CW prevented LaPosada from mentioning the garage, I went to Zillow and looked at the pictures of the house. I started wondering about how many doors the garage has. (It's not pictured. And no stairways are pictured except the outside front.) There's the one off the secondary front entryway, mentioned in the quoted post. But just going by the floor plans and the interior photos of the main house, where is the door that would let someone who pulled their car into the garage access the house without going back outside? There isn’t a door in the TV room/fireplace room, which abuts the garage. Is there a back door in the garage leading out onto the deck? I can’t tell from the Zillow photos. (You'd still have to haul your groceries outside to get to the back kitchen door, not a plus.) But if there is a rear garage door, that would let someone move Officer O'Keefe's body from the garage to the basement (using the bulkhead double doors) with no one in the house seeing them. Thus the need to redo the basement. Garage primary crime scene, basement secondary.

Like many people, I have trouble buying the “massive conspiracy” theory. Benjamin Franklin said, “Three can keep a secret, if two are dead.” He was a smart man. In some ways the Alberts, McCabes & Co and the Canton cabal remind me of the Mafia. Which is why they needed a mob lawyer to defend them by convicting KR.

I missed hearing about that. John used alcohol as his coping mechanism. In all of his pictures, his eyes look depressed. MOO
