'They killed my girl;' Reina Rodriguez's boyfriend told woman charged in her death
Nearly a year after Reina Rodriguez, 19, was found dead in her Braintree hotel room -- face down with her hands and feet bound with cell phone cables -- prosecutors announced charges against four people.

New details about the sex trafficking robbery ring operating on Backpage.com and in Braintree hotels led to charges in the June 2017 murder, according to a statement of the case filed by Assistant District Attorney Lisa Beatty.

Juana Rivera, 19, Kentavious Coleman, 20, and Kenyonte Galmore, 22, are each charged with Rodriguez's murder. The victim's boyfriend Jason McLeod, 35 of Mattapan, has been charged with human trafficking and deriving support from prostitution because of his relationship with Rodriguez.
McLeod was arrested by Maine State Police over the weekend, prosecutors said.
Rivera was held without bail during her arraignment in Norfolk County Superior Court on Monday. She allegedly conspired to kill Rodriguez with Coleman and Galmore, who are in custody in Mississippi on unrelated charges.
They will return to Massachusetts for arraignment on murder and robbery charges.
The statement of case filed ahead of Rivera's Monday arraignment details the tumultuous months leading up to the night the 19-year-old was "smothered" to death in her hotel room.
Prosecutors say Rivera first met Rodriguez in "late 2016" when she was "essentially homeless." Rivera promised to teach the teenager "how to make a lot of money doing sex work." Rivera picked Rodriguez up in Lawrence and kept her at the Braintree Hyatt for days. Rivera kept "all the money" Rodriguez made doing sex work, according to court documents.
The women moved in together but then had several disagreements. Rodriguez moved in with McLeod, who Rivera used to date, which made the woman "even angrier," according to court documents. They got into fights and Rivera threatened to kill her, prosecutors said.
On June 21 at about 4 p.m. Rodriguez and McLoud checked into room 220 at the Hyatt. He went to work in Brockton and Medford, while Rivera stayed in the hotel posting ads on Backpage, a website similar to Craigslist now infamous for hosting ads for prostitution. The website and its assets were seized by the federal government on April 6.
At 11 p.m. McLeod returned to the hotel where he and Rodriguez ate food and smoked marijuana in his car, prosecutors said.
Rodriguez returned to the room shortly after and had sex with a man for $140, prosecutors said. He left the hotel at 1:37 p.m. Then Rodriguez was alone.
That same night Rivera was traveling from Georgia back to Massachusetts. When she arrived in Lowell, she allegedly posed as a client, but then passed Rodriguez's information on to Galmore, who planned to rob and kill her.
Coleman and Galmore entered the hotel lobby separately. They later left together through the stairwell, a hotel clerk told investigators.
McLeod slept in his car and the next morning tried to get into the hotel room. When Rodriguez did not answer, he asked the front desk for a key. He returned later to tell staff his girlfriend was dead and he needed help.
After finding her, McLeod called Rivera and said: "They killed my girl."
