The children first came to the attention of police two weeks ago after a 10-year-old boy who lived in the house went to a neighbor's home and asked, "How do you get a baby to stop crying?" said Tim Connolly, a spokesman for Worcester District Attorney Joseph Early Jr.

The neighbor went with the boy and found the crying baby covered in feces.

A man was also living in the house, but he has not been charged, Connolly said.

Murray allegedly told investigators that she primarily occupied the main floors of the house, while the children’s father occupied the basement. She told investigators she was the mother of four children — a 13-year-old girl, a 10-year-old boy, a 3-year-old girl and a 5-month-old girl — but she had kept secret the existence of the youngest two.

The father apparently thought he was a parent only to two children, and was upset to learn recently that he may have had two younger children as well, the investigator said.

seriously?!!!!

Been reading into the FB page . . . she responds to a query on 8/11/11 that she only has the 2 kids and no more kids - talking about (then ages 10 & 7) oldest 2. This would have been the same time the 3 y/o would have born! WTF! Are the youngest 2 even her children? If so she clearly has not bonded with them in any way! This is one creepy case!

Crap...was just taking a screen shot of her FB page & it was just removed....so someone did it for her. Someone is covering for her.

Those two younger children have been receiving medical treatment since being taken into state custody. They show the effects of profound neglect and isolation. The 3-year-old, with poor muscle tone, apparently cannot walk and makes few sounds, and the baby shows signs of an infant who is not used to seeing sunlight, according to the investigator.

Thud!!!

OMG!

Where's the dad(s) and mom's family! Did mom have contact with her family?

From your link, this!!!

So sickening...wonder if any of the 5 were intended to survive? The 3 infants found deceased and the 3 yr old and 5 month old. No birth certificates, did EM even give them names? They must have never had any health care...

Dead cat & dog remains in the house, too. Even animals weren't able to exist in that house.

Not buying the dad didn't know the conditions or the existence of the 5, especially the infant and toddler.

Rats in the house.

I've looked through the photos. I can say without a doubt the house was a mess, but I think they've picked up on the bad points. I keep a very messy house. Very. If I spent one hour, I could have the main living area picked up and tidy, but right now, I'm in it and surrounded by food packaging, etc. If you look at her pictures, the pictures of food are way close up. I do this. It's so you can't see the mess surrounding in the kitchen. And the pictures of the kids are often on the front porch, that's because it's too messy in the house to snap a picture on the fly. I don't do the front step, I have them stand in front of the front door. The floor is always cleared there so the door can move.

I noticed in her pictures she has had a litter of kittens at some point. Also, I notice some pictures of the house from four years ago, cleaned up and cleared out. They were probably making an effort to change then. She mentioned that they were working on the house. I can imagine they have a half finished room that they slacked off on and this is probably where the trash was. And also why it was condemned. I'm guessing they weren't walking on paths, but like my house, very cluttered. Surfaces filled up. Soda cans left where they are finished, etc. It's my bedroom that gathers the crap, and I'm guessing they have a room that gathers the crap. We have trash service, but at one point when we didn't in our old place, we'd get quite the nasty stack of trash in the garage. If they have two in diapers, that's two to four cases of diapers a month, and if they don't have trash service, then yes, that would be a two foot tall pile in that room that gathers the trash until they make a dump run.

If I had it to guess, I'd say their house isn't as gross as they are saying. Cluttered and messy, but the trash itself is concentrated in a few areas, not counting the cans and tv trays that stay on the end tables until they are gathered so the utensils can be washed and used again. The hazmat suits will come out because of the diapers alone. I've seen them plenty of times on hoarders, etc. Anytime bodily fluids are involved or pets have a favorite corner, they break them out.

Sorry, even if they didn't have trash service, no one should have dirty diapers stacked anywhere...Any trash piled 2 ft high, in any corner inside of the house, with children is a health hazard...diapers or not. Unclear access to exits is a fire hazard. Having to do things outside = problem.

According to her FB (before it went poof), she had regular contact with her mother, in person.

I think there is more to this story. I think she sent the kids away in Aug 2011 and had the 3 y/o - hiding the child's existence from as many as she could meant she couldn't throw diapers away in the trash (else she would be found out - especially by the ex who lives downstairs). I think she began to spiral into post-partum depression at that time. She clearly was keeping the secret of the babies but at some point the man who lived downstairs could not ignore the vermin, insects, stench, crying babies, filthy conditions the kids were in and out of everyday. Her older 2 kids didn't appear to be unkempt so I wonder if they didn't live downstairs with Dad. Neighbors said they thought she lived with her boyfriend - so appearances in the neighborhood was they lived together.

So, if she was hiding dirty diapers in the house, how could she then be purchasing diapers and no one know? For 3 years! varying sizes as they grew...They had lived in that house for 3-4 years...So, she evidently moved in pregnant with the 3 yr old. Did she move the deceased infants into the home?

Very strange, especially for the oldest 2, there is no way they didn't know about the surviving 2 youngest. The intimidation of a witness charges were involving one or both of the 2 eldest.

Prayers for healing for all 4 surviving children. Let them get the best care available, please, and go to wonderful homes.

I think that she had the deceased infants between the times of the 3 y/o and the 5 mo/o at the house. Thus, it wasn't a necessity to get rid of the "trash" (so sorry - I don't mean to offend anyone). The witness intimidation charges are certainly her attempting power and control over at least the 10 y/o. He was the one who went to a neighbor and asked for help in getting a baby to stop crying. Her post about her 13 y/o back in 2011, saying she was so easy to have around it was like being alone.

It's just all so unbelievable!

I know it has the right name and location but are we sure that's the right one? Even the older kids who have a FB page seem normal and the house looks clean in all of the pictures??

The Facebook page is gone now, but I'm absolutely positive that it was her. There were pictures taken outside of the house that match the house shown in pictures attached to articles about the case.

Amazon or diapers.com would be my guess. I think the other three came between the two.

Did anybody see this law?
http://law.justia.com/codes/massachusetts/2014/part-iv/title-i/chapter-272/section-22
[h=1]2014 Massachusetts General Laws
PART IV CRIMES, PUNISHMENTS AND PROCEEDINGS IN CRIMINAL CASES
TITLE I CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS
CHAPTER 272 CRIMES AGAINST CHASTITY, MORALITY, DECENCY AND GOOD ORDER
Section 22 Concealment of death of child born out of wedlock[/h]
Universal Citation: MA Gen L ch 272 § 22
Section 22. A parent who conceals the death of the issue of such parent, which if born alive would be a child born out of wedlock, so that it cannot be ascertained whether it was born alive or, if born alive, whether it was murdered, shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars or by imprisonment for not more than one year.

What does being born out of wedlock have to do with anything, and also, to be fined not more than $100 or imprisoned not more than one year?!?! While I think each case should be evaluated, and I tend to lean on the more lenient side in these cases, I find it ridiculous that the law is so limited.

I forgot that she had commented once "Some people should never be parents" on her FB account. This blows my mind trying to wrap my head around her thoughts. I am now thinking this is a double life with a hoarding OCD factor. There was clearly an effort to decieve on her part (just based on comments she made to her Mother and friends on FB). She knew what she was doing hiding the babies, but her total admiration for her oldest 2 kids and being so happy to have a night without kids but she was feeling so lonely. She also stated she was happy her sales were up - and she liked yardsaling - reselling second hand items perhaps?
